Zhell

The Zhell are one of the earliest known species in the Star Wars universe. They are humanoids known to have held their civilization on the Galactic capital planet of Coruscant, one of the most significant planets in the Star Wars galaxy. The Zhell were the ancestors of the Human species, with their civilization predating almost every other one known in the entire Star Wars saga.

According to legend, the Zhell were engaged in a long, harsh war with the species known as the Taung, who are the progenitors of the Mandalorians. There was a cataclysmic event wherein a volcano erupted, enveloping the Zhell city with ash, and it was assumed that the Zhell lost the battle. However, they survived, and with time, grew to become a dominant species, while the Taung were forced into exile and eventually found their way to Mandalore. This canonical lore of the Zhell played a critical part in the development of both humans and Mandalorians in the Star Wars Universe.
