Tri-Fighter

The Droid Tri-Fighter, also known simply as the Tri-Fighter, is a model of droid starfighter used extensively by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the later years of The Clone Wars. Manufactured by the Colicoid Creation Nest, the Tri-Fighter is characterized by its unique tri-wing configuration and its deadly armament. The central spherical cockpit houses the droid brain, which is optimized for performing high-speed maneuvers and precision attacks. Its arsenal typically includes laser cannons and concussion missile launchers, making it a formidable opponent in dogfights against Republic starfighters, such as the ARC-170 and Jedi Interceptors.

Unlike manned starfighters, the Droid Tri-Fighter lacks a life support system, allowing it to be more streamlined and efficient in space. Its design is inspired by the biology of the Colicoid species, giving it a menacing and insect-like appearance. The Tri-Fighter's agility and compact size make it an excellent choice for engaging enemy fighters, escorting larger capital ships, and participating in large-scale space battles. During the Battle of Coruscant, many Tri-Fighters were deployed to assault the Galactic Republic's forces, showcasing their capability to outmaneuver and outfight many of the starfighters piloted by Republic forces.
