ARC-170

Ships

The ARC-170 starfighter, also known as Aggressive ReConnaissance-170, was a notable heavy-duty starship used predominantly by the Galactic Republic during The Clone Wars. Designed and manufactured by Incom Corporation and Subpro Corporation, the ARC-170 was well-suited for both reconnaissance and heavy combat roles. Its design incorporated both offensive and defensive systems making it one of the Republic's most versatile and reliable starfighters. The ship notably featured its distinct S-foils, which were mounted on its wings and could be positioned during complex maneuvers to slightly change the fighter’s profile and enhance combat capabilities.

Typically crewed by a pilot, co-pilot, and tail gunner—alongside an astromech droid for navigation and repair—the ARC-170 had an impressive range and arsenal. Its standard loadout included medium laser cannons, proton torpedoes, and rear-mounted laser cannons, enabling it to engage enemies in different ranges effectively. The starfighter’s robust design also meant it could withstand substantial damage during intense dogfights. Though significantly larger and less agile compared to starfighters like the Republic's V-wing, the ARC-170 compensated with its greater firepower and advanced sensory equipment, making it an essential asset during major battles and strategic reconnaissance missions.
