Shaak Ti

Shaak Ti was a Togruta Jedi Master who served as a member of the Jedi Order during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Born on the planet Shili, Shaak Ti was discovered to be force-sensitive and was brought to the Jedi temple on Coruscant where she was trained in the ways of The Force. Throughout her training, she distinguished herself with her exceptional combat skills, primarily in the use of a lightsaber, and her strong connection to The Force. Eventually, she rose through the ranks to become a respected Jedi Master and member of the Jedi Council.

During the Clone Wars, Shaak Ti played a pivotal role as a general for the Galactic Republic's army of clone troopers. In this capacity, she led her troops in numerous battles against the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). Notably, Shaak Ti was responsible for overseeing the training and development of the clones on the planet Kamino, taking a personal interest in their well-being and ensuring they were prepared for battle.

Shaak Ti's most notable physical traits were her unique Togruta features, which included striking red and white skin patterns and impressive head-tails known as Montrals and Lekku. These head-tails not only served as a defining physical characteristic but also granted her heightened senses and spatial awareness. As a skilled warrior and diplomat, Shaak Ti was able to gain the trust of both the Jedi Council and her fellow Jedi Knights, demonstrating her wisdom and ability to guide others in crucial situations.

Shaak Ti was an expert in the art of lightsaber combat, specializing in Form II - Makashi, a graceful and efficient combat style focused on accuracy and finesse. This made her an exceptional duelist, capable of holding her own against some of the most powerful warriors in the galaxy. Furthermore, she was proficient in several other forms of lightsaber combat, making her a versatile and formidable opponent. In addition to her expertise in the use of the lightsaber, her force abilities were just as impressive. She demonstrated prowess in telekinesis and mind tricks and was even known to enhance her physical abilities through the force.

During the infamous Order 66, Shaak Ti was able to escape the initial purge of the Jedi due to her presence on a distant world away from the main conflict. In the years following the rise of the Galactic Empire, she remained in hiding, avoiding the relentless pursuit of the Emperor’s Inquisitors.

Though Shaak Ti's canon story ends with her survival of Order 66, her character continued to expand in Star Wars Legends (previously known as the Expanded Universe). In the Legends continuity, it is detailed that she made her last stand against the Sith on the force-imbued world of Felucia. Here, she trained a new generation of Jedi before ultimately falling in battle against the Sith assassin, Starkiller. Regardless of the Expanded Universe, Shaak Ti is remembered as one of the most powerful and skilled Jedi Masters of her time.
