Jedi Council

The Jedi Council is a central organization in the Star Wars universe composed of wise and powerful Jedi Masters who advise and guide the Jedi Knights in their mission to maintain peace and justice in the galaxy.

The Jedi Council was established during The Old Republic era, a time before the rise of the Galactic Empire. The Council was initially based on the planet Tython, but it later moved to Coruscant, the capital of the Republic. The Jedi Council was formed to guide and govern the Jedi Order, consisting of Jedi Knights and Jedi Masters who were dedicated to using The Force to protect and serve the galaxy.

The Jedi Council is composed of 12 members, including a Grand Master who serves as the leader of the Council. The members of the Jedi Council are chosen based on their mastery of The Force and their wisdom, and they are appointed by the Grand Master. The Jedi Council serves as a repository for Jedi knowledge and wisdom, and all Jedi Knights and Masters report to the Council for guidance and instruction.

The Jedi Council has many roles and responsibilities, including:

  • Guiding and governing the Jedi Order
  • Training and instructing Jedi Knights and Masters
  • Providing advice and counsel to the Galactic Republic
  • Maintaining peace and justice in the galaxy
  • Investigating and resolving conflicts and disputes

The Jedi Council has played a significant role in many key events in the Star Wars universe, including The Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War.

The Jedi Council was ultimately destroyed during the rise of the Galactic Empire, which saw the eradication of the Jedi Order. The Council's members were hunted down and killed, and their knowledge and history were largely lost. However, the teachings of the Jedi Council lived on through the surviving Jedi Knights and through the work of later Jedi organizations such as Luke Skywalker's new Jedi Order.
