RC-1262, also known as Scorch, is a well-known character from the Star Wars universe who originates from the Star Wars: Republic Commando video game. As part of the Republic's clone commandos, Scorch was bred on the ocean planet, Kamino, and trained as a demolitions expert under the auspices of the white-armored Grand Army of the Republic.
This clone trooper received the nickname "Scorch" as a result of a training accident involving an explosive that went off too close to him, thus "scorching" him, but he managed to survive and take his incident as a badge of honor. Standing out for his ready sense of humor, Scorch became famous for his wisecracks, even in the most perilous of situations. Scorch's distinctive demeanor served to lighten the mood in otherwise tense moments for his fellow squad members.
Being part of the famous Clone Commando unit known as Delta Squad, Scorch, along with three other commandos, Boss (RC-1138), Fixer (RC-1140), and Sev (RC-1207), embarked on many high-risk missions during The Clone Wars. They were all designed to resemble their genetic template, the bounty hunter Jango Fett, and wore specialized Katarn-class commando armor that could be customized with unique attachments and colors to distinguish one clone from another.
During the course of the Republic Commando game and novel series, Delta Squad was involved in some of the most daring and important missions of the Clone Wars including the Battle of Geonosis and the mission to recover the Prosecutor, an Acclamator-class Republic assault ship, among others.
After the end of the Clone Wars and the transformation of the Republic into the Galactic Empire, Delta Squad continued to serve under the new regime. Their ultimate fate, however, remains ambiguous, including that of Scorch, leaving fans to speculate on what may have happened to these beloved characters from Star Wars history.
