General Antoc Merrick

General Antoc Merrick is a notable character in the Star Wars universe, hailed from the fictional oceanic planet of Corellia. He is best known for his significant contributions to the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War, in particular, taking part in the Battle of Scarif as the leader of Blue Squadron, marking a turning point in the war against the Galactic Empire. Merrick is portrayed by British actor Ben Daniels in the Star Wars anthology film, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" released in 2016.

Prior to his involvement in the events of "Rogue One", Merrick was a fleet commander for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. However, his path to this position was not straightforward. Merrick initially took part in a peaceful protest against the Empire on his homeworld of Corellia.
