Mos Pelgo

Mos Pelgo, also known as Free Town, is a small, isolated Community located on the desert planet of Tatooine in the Star Wars universe. When it was first introduced in the TV series "The Mandalorian," it was referred to as an "unseen" or "forgotten" town. Tatooine, as a whole, is a remote and often lawless planet where the allure of valuable resources has tourists and opportunists clashing with native cultures, including Mos Pelgo.

The original series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, makes the first mention of the town, portrayed as a mining Community. Fievel Faddler was its mayor by the time of the Battle of Yavin. He used his office to sell the town's mining yield and grew rich, even as the conditions of Mos Pelgo's inhabitants deteriorated.

Mos Pelgo would have fallen into historical oblivion hadn't it been for the arrival of Cobb Vanth. Vanth, a former slave turned self-styled sheriff, managed to procure a suit of Mandalorian armour (initially belonging to Boba Fett) from the Jawas. He used this armour to enforce Law and Order, and protect the town from external threats, assuming the role of the town marshal.

Under Vanth's protection, Mos Pelgo survived and thrived, maintaining a delicate peace with the native Tusken Raiders as well as fending off the territorial encroachments of criminal syndicates. One for instance is the ruthless Red Key Raiders gang. The town was close to annihilation when a Krayt Dragon threatened it, an immense and dangerous serpent-like creature.

However, working alongside the Mandalorian and forming an unlikely alliance with the Tusken Raiders, Vanth and the people of Mos Pelgo succeeded in killing the Dragon, ensuring the survival of their town. This victory cemented Vanth’s position as a heroic figure to the townsfolk who continued to respect and admire him as the town’s protector.

Mos Pelgo is a testament to the resilience of frontier communities in the Star Wars universe. Despite the many adversities thrown its way, its inhabitants continue to survive and rebuild, under the watchful eyes of their courageous protector, Cobb Vanth.
