Utai

The Utai people are a species in the Star Wars entire universe that hail from the sinkhole planet known as Utapau. The Utai are considered to be the lesser of the two species living on the planet, with their brethren species being the taller and more domineering Pau'ans. These short, pudgy beings have a docile nature and are known for their mechanical expertise and loyalty to the Pau'ans.

Physically, the Utai are dwarf-like, with a bulbous head, short legs and muscular arms. They have large, round eyes that are well accustomed to the low-light conditions on Utapau. Averaging only one meter in height, the Utai have an unassuming appearance that belies their resilience and adaptability. Westerns who have visited Utapau often underestimate the Utai, which is an underestimation that is challenged once they witness their proficiency in handling the various mechanical systems found on Utapau, including the care and handling of the numerous and varied natural vermin that are native to the sinkholes of their homeworld.
