Tion Medon

Characters

Tion Medon is a character featured in the Star Wars universe, specifically in the movie "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." He is portrayed by Bruce Spence, an Australian actor. Tion Medon serves as the Port Administrator of the planet Utapau, a key location in Episode III's storyline. As a member of the Pau'an species, Tion Medon is characterized by his tall, thin frame, elongated skull, and distinctively pale white skin, which contrasts with his dark robes and red eyes.

Being a Pau'an, Tion Medon comes from an ancient and highly developed civilization with extensive knowledge of the galaxy. The Pau'ans originally resided on the planet Utapau and co-existed peacefully with another sapient species, the Utai. Both species, together known as Utapauns, faced hardships upon discovering the valuable resources on their planet, bringing various conflicts from numerous factions seeking to exploit these resources. Nevertheless, Tion Medon played a significant role in maintaining the stability and security of Utapau.

In the events of "Revenge of the Sith," Tion Medon encountered Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was in pursuit of the Sith Lord, General Grievous. Kenobi arrived on Utapau to uncover the whereabouts of the Cyborg general and finally end The Clone Wars that had been raging throughout the galaxy. Medon, who was aware of Grievous' presence on Utapau and the secret Separatist base hidden there, discreetly assisted Kenobi by providing him with the necessary information on the location of the base.

Before Kenobi's arrival on Utapau, Tion Medon was secretly cooperating with General Grievous to help protect his planet and people from the Separatist forces. However, Medon had no loyalty to the Sith or their cause, seeing his collaboration as merely an attempt to keep Utapau safe from harm. His allegiance was to the people and the greater galaxy, evident by his willingness to aid Kenobi against Grievous.

As a Port Administrator, Tion Medon demonstrated remarkable diplomatic abilities and adapted well to complex situations. He was able to navigate the intricate context of the Clone Wars while also keeping the best interests of his planet and people in mind. Tion Medon's character, thus, adds an interesting layer to the vast Star Wars universe, showcasing the dilemmas that various beings faced during the galactic Turmoil.

After the battle on Utapau, Tion Medon's fate remained mostly ambiguous in the Star Wars canon. It is presumed that he continued to serve as Port Administrator and saw to the well-being of his people during the rise of the Galactic Empire. However, his role in any subsequent events has not been explicitly addressed within the Star Wars movies or expanded universe.

Tion Medon is a relatively minor Star Wars character but plays a crucial role in setting the stage for one of the final battles of the Clone Wars. Depicted as a leader who prioritized the well-being of his people above all else, he symbolizes the difficult choices that many characters in the galaxy faced as they navigated through a complex and often dangerous environment.
