The Ghost ( Ship )

The Ghost is a crucial starship featured in the Star Wars universe, specifically seen in the animated television series "Star Wars Rebels". It was a modified VCX-100 light freighter, belonging to Hera Syndulla. Hera, being the owner and pilot, put her starship to good use serving the Rebel Alliance in their struggle against the Galactic Empire.

With a length of 43.9 meters, the Ghost was able to comfortably accommodate all members of the crew, including Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Chopper (the droid), and Zeb Orrelios, with fully equipped quarters. Besides its living accommodations, the Ghost was fully armoured and equipped with multiple weapon systems, including a 360-degree dorsal laser cannon turret, two forward-facing laser cannons, and rear and ventral turrets.

The interior of the ship was designed to reflect its function as both a home and a battleship for its crew. It contained a galley, a main corridor, an engine room, a cockpit, and several private quarters for crew members. Moreover, it contained a recovery med-station and an engineering station with numerous tools for on-the-go repairs.

Adding to its uniqueness, the Ghost also had a specialized docking system allowing a smaller spacecraft, the Phantom, to attach itself, thus providing additional support when needed. The Phantom served many purposes - an auxiliary vessel, a drop ship, or an escape pod - giving the crew extra agility when facing the threat of the Empire.

The Ghost played a vital role throughout the Star Wars Rebels series, participating in several key battles, serving not only as the main transport for its crew but also a symbol of hope for the Rebellion. The ship was notorious among the Imperial forces, proving to be a thorn in the side of the Empire time and time again.

In the wider Star Wars continuity, the Ghost and its crew staged a comeback in the sequel trilogy, even making appearances in the final battle scenes of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”, where the ship can be spotted amongst the Rebel fleet, marking the Ghost’s significance in the Rebellion's efforts to defeat the Empire.
