San Hill

Characters

San Hill was a male Muun and prominent figure in the Star Wars galaxy, who served as the Chairman of the InterGalactic Banking Clan (IGBC) during the final years of the Galactic Republic. He was known for his cunning intelligence and ruthless approach towards business, ensuring the financial prosperity and political influence of the IGBC.

His first canon appearance was in the movie 'Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones', released in 2002, where he was portrayed by actor Chris Truswell. In this movie, San Hill and the IGBC play a crucial role in supporting the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) by providing financial funding, as well as the production of the Battle Droid armies that would be used against the Republic.

In The Clone Wars animated series, San Hill's role was expanded upon, showcasing his involvement in various schemes and collaborations with the key Separatist leaders, such as Count Dooku, General Grievous, and Nute Gunray. Throughout his tenure as Chairman of the IGBC, San Hill would find himself involved in matters that often strayed from the realm of commerce and finance, with one such example being his participation in the creation of the infamous Cyborg General Grievous.

San Hill is also featured in numerous Star Wars Legends materials, which were originally considered canon before Disney+'s acquisition of the franchise. These sources, such as comics and novels, provide additional context and backstory for his character, exploring his origins as well as his rise to power within the IGBC. In Legends, San Hill would ultimately meet his demise during the infamous 'Battle of Mygeeto' in which the Jedi Master, Ki-Adi-Mundi, killed him during the final stages of the Clone Wars.

It is important to note that Hill's fate in the current official canon has not been disclosed, leaving room for possible future developments with his character. The key difference between his fate in the old Legends materials and the current canon is that he is not directly killed by Ki-Adi-Mundi, but is instead arrested at the end of the war as the Republic forces seize control of the IGBC.

San Hill's character serves as a prime example of how corporate interests and influential figures of the Star Wars universe played an essential role in shaping both the political landscape and the devastating conflicts that ravaged the galaxy. His influential position within the IGBC, and key alliances within the Separatist movement, demonstrate the far-reaching effects that the pursuit of profit and power can have on the greater galactic stage.

San Hill is a character who exemplifies the darker side of the Star Wars galaxy, revealing the intricate web of politics, business, and war that underpin its expansive universe. He stands as a testament to the complexity and depth of the Star Wars franchise - showcasing just how much impact individuals who remain outside of the spotlight can have on the fate of entire worlds.
