The Ploo System, located in the Outer Rim Territories, is a significant star system within the Star Wars galaxy. It is best known as the home of the Kel Dor species, who primarily inhabit the planet Dorin. The Kel Dor are characterized by their distinct appearance, including their need to wear protective masks and goggles due to Dorin's unique atmospheric conditions, which consist of a mixture of helium and a gas called "anethium." This makes the planet's air incompatible with the majority of other life forms in the galaxy.

Dorin, the primary inhabited planet within the Ploo System, is largely covered in severe and tumultuous weather conditions, including violent windstorms. Despite these challenging environmental factors, the Kel Dor civilization has thrived, highly valuing both communal and individual strength. Dorin is also noteworthy for its connection to The Force, producing several prominent Jedi, most famously Jedi Master Plo Koon, who served on the Jedi Council during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. Plo Koon's leadership and mastery of the Force, along with his piloting skills, made him a distinguished and respected figure among both his peers and the citizens of the galaxy.
