Dooku Jedi Lost

Audio Dramas

Star Wars: Dooku: Jedi Lost is an audio drama and novel written by Cavan Scott that delves into the backstory of Count Dooku and his transition from the Jedi Order to becoming Darth Sidious' apprentice. The novel explores Dooku's early years in the Jedi temple on Coruscant, his relationship with his family on his home planet of Serenno, and his growing friendship with Sith teachings, as well as the events that ultimately led him to become one of the most feared Sith Lords in the galaxy.

The story is mainly told through the perspective of Asajj Ventress, Dooku's Sith apprentice, who has been tasked by her master to track down his sister, Jenza. While searching for information to aid her mission, Ventress comes across a series of holocrons containing records of Dooku's life. These recordings provide the narrative of Dooku's experiences, as well as the foundations of the relationship between him and Asajj Ventress.

At the Jedi Temple, a young Dooku is taken under the wing of Jedi Master Yoda, and later becomes the Padawan of Jedi Master Lene Kostana. Kostana's missions involve locating and dealing with Sith artifacts and Dark Side knowledge, which piques Dooku's curiosity. As he rises in the ranks of the Jedi Order, Dooku trains a number of Padawans, including the future Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Dooku's connection to The Force and his lightsaber prowess are undeniable, but his growing interest in politics and the Dark Side cause tension with the Jedi Council.

Dooku eventually reconnects with his estranged family on Serenno as they face a great crisis. His brother, Ramil, is involved in a plot against their family, which forces Dooku to confront his past and choose between his duty to the Jedi Order and his loyalty to his family. While on Serenno, Dooku discovers a secret chamber containing Sith artifacts that only further his interest in the Dark Side.

As Dooku becomes disillusioned with the Jedi Order, his relationships with fellow Jedi and his Padawans suffer. He questions the intentions of the Republic and the Jedi Council, and the emotional Turmoil he experiences during these events begins to unlock Sith abilities within him. Dooku ultimately chooses to leave the Jedi Order, something that only 19 other Jedi have done in history, becoming a "Lost Twenty."

Once freed from the constraints of the Jedi Order, Dooku embraces the political climate of the galaxy and his noble heritage. It is during this time that he encounters Darth Sidious, who sees Dooku's potential as a Sith apprentice. Dooku's journey into the Dark Side reaches its peak as he takes on the mantle of Darth Tyranus and becomes the second apprentice of Darth Sidious. As the new Sith Lord, he sets into motion the events that would lead to The Clone Wars.

Throughout the narrative, Ventress struggles with her own ambitions and conflicted loyalty to Dooku. The revelations she uncovers about her master's past are instrumental in shaping her own future, and their relationship is a central theme of the novel. Star Wars: Dooku: Jedi Lost ultimately provides fans with a greater understanding of Count Dooku's motivations, his fall from grace, and his role within the grand scheme of the Star Wars saga.
