B2 Super Battle Droids

The B2 Super Battle Droids, commonly called Super Battle Droids, are a class of military droid developed by Baktoid Combat Automata during the twilight years of the Galactic Republic and utilised widely during The Clone Wars. They were an upgrade to the standard B1 Battle Droids, designed for situations that necessitated a more robust and autonomous battle droid.

In terms of design, the B2 Super Battle Droids were larger than their B1 predecessors. Their more resilient armour meant they could soak up more damage in battle. Their design also included a built-in dual wrist blasters which produced greater firepower, proving them to be more of a threat on the battlefield.

These droids also possessed a greater degree of independence than the B1 Battle Droids. They had limited decision-making capabilities which allowed them to perform tasks without direct orders. However, their capability for free thought was reduced to ensure they always followed orders and their loyalty to their commanders remained unquestionable.

B2 Super Battle Droids saw ample service during the Clone Wars, first deployed by the Separatists in the Battle of Geonosis. They also appeared later in significant battles such as the Battle of Coruscant and Battle of Kashyyyk. Despite significant numbers and their increased combat effectiveness, they were often outwitted and outclassed by the Republic's Clone Troopers.

After the termination of the Clone Wars and the rise of the Galactic Empire, these Super Battle Droids were largely disbanded. However, a number of them survived into the era of the Galactic Civil War, featuring in battles waged by burgeoning Rebellion against the Galactic Empire.

the B2 Super Battle Droids served as the backbone of the Droid Armies during the Clone Wars. Their advanced capabilities over the B1 Battle Droids made them a formidable opponent on the battlefield. Despite these advancements, they were ultimately unable to secure victory for the Separatists.
