Age of Resistance

The Age of Resistance is a period in the Star Wars universe that takes place after the era of the Galactic Empire and focuses on the rise and conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. This time period is primarily depicted in the sequel trilogy, consisting of The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker films.

Following the defeat of the Empire and the supposed death of Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor, the New Republic emerged and led the galaxy toward peace and prosperity. During this time, many former Imperial officers and sympathizers fled to the Unknown Regions, ultimately leading to the emergence of the First Order, a military junta that aimed to reclaim the galaxy and restore the order they believed the Empire provided.

The Resistance, led by General Leia Organa, was formed to combat the growing threat of the First Order. The New Republic had signed a treaty with the remnants of the Empire, but many members of the government were either unaware of, or chose to ignore, the First Order's ambition to regain power. Organa, along with many former Rebel Alliance fighters, believed that it was crucial to counter the First Order's aggression and defend democracy in the galaxy.

The First Order, under the command of Supreme Leader Snoke, sought to destroy the New Republic and regain control of the galaxy. They believed that the galaxy had grown weak under the New Republic, and required the strict leadership that the Empire had previously provided. The First Order was equipped with a powerful military, and its leaders propagated the idea that they were the only true successors to the Empire.

During this era, Kylo Ren, the son of Leia Organa and Han Solo, served as a prominent figure within the First Order. Believing that he was destined to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren sought to become a Sith Lord and embrace the dark side of the Force. Meanwhile, Rey, an orphan from the desert planet of Jakku, discovered her own Force sensitivity and became the last hope for the Jedi Order and the Resistance.

Throughout the Age of Resistance, numerous battles and conflicts occurred between the First Order and the Resistance. Key events included the Starkiller Base Incident, the Battle of Crait, and the Battle of Exegol. These battles led to significant losses on both sides, as well as the ultimate defeat of the First Order and the restoration of peace throughout the galaxy.

The Age of Resistance ultimately saw the reemergence of hope in the galaxy, as well as the resolution of generational conflicts that began with the rise of the Empire. The Resistance's fight against tyranny and oppression serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Star Wars universe, as characters both old and new come together to protect the values of democracy and freedom in the face of overwhelming odds.
