And today we're reviewing season 2 Clone Wars episodes 8 and 9.

We did, I think we did 3 on the last podcast if I remember correctly.

And they were all part of this like kind of like horror arc.

Which I'm happy to say that the first episode of, that we're going to be reviewing tonight actually continued that arc.

Which is pretty cool.

First off, before we get going, Jon, what are you drinking tonight?

Well it's funny you should ask.

Because a good friend of mine has given me a can of liquid happiness.

Oh, ironically I'm drinking the same thing.

You're drinking the same thing. No way!

I shouldn't have said ironically, but I'm saying crazily.

Crazily? Coincidentally.

Yeah, coincidentally. Liquid happiness juicy IPA. 7% Sierra Nevada.

So what made you, what prompted you to bestow upon me this wonderful treasure?

So I've gotten to where I buy a six pack now and I save two off.

And then anytime you come over to my house I force beer upon you.

Which is a totally horrible thing to do to a friend.

And that way we can kind of drink the same thing whenever we can.

We just have to see.

I've got another one stocked away for you.

So I will say this though.

It's funny because we went on vacation about two weeks ago.

Right before I left I didn't have any beer left.

And I gave you two cans of stuff last time you were ever at my house.

And I drank one of the other ones because I didn't have anything else to drink.

Of course.

So that one you'll have your own beer to review and I'll have another beer to review.

I just stared at that can trying to make sure I was grabbing the right one.

Now it's free and clear.

Yes, you can drink that whenever you'd like or you can save it for another episode.

And I do definitely enjoy the tops of the Sierra Nevada cans.

I'm usually not like a citrusy, juicy IPA person, but man, that one's, that was good.

I mean, I can drink them, but I'm just saying I'd rather have like a little bit more hot.

Oh, I can drink them.

It's just the best beers in the world.

I could drink it.

Okay, let's start off.

Season 2, episode 8.

We continued our horror, what do we call it, horror arc of the brain invading worms.

The episode was called Brain Invaders.

And we got more of Barris and Ahsoka kind of teaming up, which I've enjoyed the cartoons that have that.

I like Barris more and more every episode.

Yes, I'd agree with you.

And I was very happy to see more about the worms, that they didn't just drop that.

Yeah, yeah, they played that all the way through.

I mean, that's a pretty good little arc if you got, I think it's four episodes, and that kind of horror thing.

And they kept with the horror, they kept with, I think there was a Wilhelm scream in there,

they kept with the whole like vibe of like dark and like, it was more along the lines of like an alien type setting this time.

You can't get back to the med bay because you can't let these things escape.

And if they escape, they're going to, you know, go through all the people at the med station.

And the med station's going to go, I thought it was really good.

I thought it was a good episode.

I enjoyed the kind of, and we're full of spoilers here in case you don't know, so if you do want to go watch it, kill it now.

But the part where she, you don't know, I mean you kind of know, but you don't know if Ahsoka had to kill Barris or not.

And I thought that was really well done.

I thought it was good.

Like they ended it and then they kind of shifted perspectives, and then you're kind of like, oh, did she kill her?

Did she not kill her?

What happened?

And then, you know, you get the actual ending of the episode where they discover that they're both frozen and she's still alive.

I don't know. What was your thoughts?

I can't say that they sold me on that.

There's no way that, especially, you know, they have the worm coming out and exposing itself.

Just like, here I am, kill me now.

Yeah.

No, she's not going to kill her. No way in the world.

That'd be a pretty traumatic episode if she actually did.

And I would be like, whoa, we really got dark on this one.

But yeah, she slices her in half with the with the saber and then they show her she's freezing, you know, shivering and she's up against the two halves of the body.

What if she climbed inside Barry's body?

Oh, man, that got really, really dark all of a sudden.

I thought she smelled bad on the outside.

She suddenly has like a pair of goggles on.

Where did the goggles come from?

And it's like, what is going on?

Anyways, I thought it was good.

I thought it was a good arc.

I enjoyed it.

Well, yeah, no, it was good.

Did you get any sort of when the the clone troopers were being turned?

Did you get any sort of like Order 66 vibe out of that?

You know, because the country.

But that's a good that's a good point.

I should have really struck me.

It's like this is this is this is like, you know, creeping me out because I know what's coming.

Right. Yeah, that's true.

I know. That's very interesting.

I never thought of it in that context, if I'm being honest.

And likewise, is this the first time we see Anakin force choke somebody?

Ooh, when he's interrogating Poggle, because I love that.

I love this. Like, OK, more of that.

Just a little more of a turn to the dark side.

I love the gradual nature of it.

Yeah, yeah, I think I think you're right there, too.

I think, again, that that is the first time we've seen a force choke.

If I can remember, I did it definitely in the cartoon.

I'm trying to think if there's been any other time that he's done like in movies or anything like that.

I think you're right. I think it is.

Yeah, I thought so. Yeah.

And I wonder, too, if like if they knew that Clone Wars was going to be as long as it is,

if they like they knew within season one that they were like, we got three seasons, let's make him darker.

A lot of you know what I mean? Like like sooner rather than later.

But yeah, I don't know. That's going to be very interesting. I don't know.

I hope it continues, because that was something that we have not discussed.

Episode three yet. But when that comes up, it's such a just a heel turn of, you know, I am a bad guy now.

That always bothered me. Nuff said on that. I love I hope they continue this gradual.

You see little glimpses of him. Yeah, that anger, that anger in his face.

That was that was yeah, there it is right there. It's coming out.

And what's what's kind of interesting, too, is that that one where Padme that we watched where she's been like poisoned or,

you know, she's under the he doesn't he gets mad. He doesn't force choke.

Like this is like a this is like a he's making the decision not because of a loved one.

He's making a decision because he wants the information. You know what I mean?

Like he's that's a real like that's a different decision. And yeah, that's interesting.

And I never thought about that. But yeah, you're right. I mean, he he's concluded you are in my way.

You have something. Exactly. You're in my way. And I don't have to take that.

Yeah. You know. Yeah. Seriously. No, no. That's that's that's interesting. That's yeah.

I mean, let's let's let's contrast it to Episode nine with the Grievous entry,

which is really weird that we kind of jumped back to the Grievous storyline.

I don't know. Yeah, I thought it was good. Yeah. Yeah.

But I enjoyed the I enjoyed Grievous in this episode of knowing that they were going to come back for him and kind of knowing their plan already.

I like that part of Grievous. Like I like almost like like you know,

I'm not going to say anything about it. I'm not going to say anything about it.

But I like that part of Grievous. Like I like almost like like because he's talked about as a tactician and and you see that very,

very much at the at the really the beginning of the episode where he's like, yeah, you're going to have to know we come back.

But also there's going to be Anakin somewhere. You know, I mean, like he's he's looking for me.

He's going to try to board the ship like he knows the whole time that's going down.

And yeah, I didn't know that. I don't think we've been introduced to F.

Koth, the Jedi that got captured. Yeah, I don't. He isn't familiar. Yeah, I don't think I don't think we've been introduced to him.

But Adi Galea Galea Galea, I think so. You say it. I remember her character from Clone Wars, the movies.

So, yeah, so she was small, small character, but still she was there.

I enjoyed the Ninja Droids. I always enjoyed the ninja droids. Sure. Yeah.

We talked about that the first time we saw them, which was the ones with the with the light up.

What are you what do you call those things?

They're like they're like the American Vibro swords or something like that. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. There's the thing of like what I'm thinking of American Ninja Warriors on TV where they have the poles with the big.

No. Things are you thinking of American gladiators?

American gladiators. That's it. Where they have the poles with the big pillows on the end.

Yeah. They're like, yeah, they fight. Yeah. That was awesome.

This is the energy version of that. Do they still have that show? Is there? Did they read on that show? Like on new TV?

Well, clearly I am not a fan because I don't watch American Ninja Warriors.

I'm surprised they haven't rebooted that show.

So what'd you think Eric? I didn't watch the cartoon. Sorry. I was watching American gladiators.

I was watching people shoot tennis balls out of small cannons at each other.

Did you, Eric, what are you talking about? Nothing. Nothing.

Yeah, it was good. And then the ending to this, I mean, I'm sure we're going to get like a two to three episode arc here,

because of the ending of it. Salamacar, I forget the name of the planet that they're descending onto.

But you kind of get the drift like the next episode or at least the next couple of episodes are going to be Anakin and Obi-Wan going after Grievous again.

I enjoy Grievous. I kind of looking for some new some new baddies, but I don't know. It wasn't a bad episode.

What do you think of this episode? I thought it was overall very good.

I love when they came out of hyperspace really close to the enemy ship. That was fantastic.

Yeah, that was cool. I love the entry and exit from hyperspace whenever they do it close to something where it's not just out in space.

I love that. What was the the guy who got captured, the Jedi who got captured? What was his name again?

Koth. He was an Abraham. I'm trying to remember his exact name. Eeth Koth. Eeth Koth. Jedi Koth.

Well, they they used him very nicely to set up concern for Obi-Wan, right?

Because you see how they take him down. Yep. And you see the same thing happening later with with Obi-Wan.

You're like, Obi-Wan, no, stop. Watch out. And of course, he kind of evades it.

Yeah. And the fight scenes were pretty good for both those people facing Grievous.

Well, you led right into that. So I'm going to have to point out if I haven't pointed this out before, that Grievous having four lightsabers should be the end of any fight.

Yes, totally. But he always takes all four and attacks the same way, like over the top or down below or whatever.

So you can block it with one lightsaber. I know this is nitpicking, but that's the stupidest thing ever.

Two up, two down, you're dead. Well, all he's going to do is do. You can't block both.

Yeah. Or two up, two down, whichever. But just spin them. Do your spinny thing. Like a food processor.

Yeah, do the helicopter thing. Yeah, do your helicopter thing. You'll take down whatever you need to take down, man.

Ain't nobody getting by that. You can't. They can't. Yeah, I agree.

But again, I wish they had not done that. I mean, he looks menacing. That's the point. I get it.

But it also, you have to then caveat it so much that, oh, it just doesn't work this time.

I guess you could sell it as he really doesn't know how to fight very well. We've seen that in the comics, right?

He just doesn't have any force whatsoever. So he's just brute forcing it, if you will.

And he's not very well thought out. He's trying to just smash, like Hulk smash, and he doesn't have finesse or technique.

Which is weird because given how intricately he plans, you would think he would practice a little bit with some saber fighting.

Also, too, he's got his cool little crawly thing that he does that's really freaky. It's a really freaky crawly thing.

That's very freaky. Every time he does that, that's freaky.

Yeah, every time he does that, I'm always just like, dude, you need to just sneak up behind somebody with that thing and just pop up high.

I don't know. Because he's super fast. He's like crawling on the ceiling.

Again, I'm not saying I enjoy Grievous as a character. I'm just kind of getting to the point where I want some other baddie to show up.

And maybe I won't ever get it. I don't know. I enjoyed the previous episodes with the brain invaders, how that was kind of a new thing.

We didn't know about that. And we're like, whoa, this is like a horror.

You get that big worm mother and you're like, oh, this is even cooler.

Grievous to me is like, I think we're going to be chasing Grievous for the next three seasons.

Just kind of, where did he go this time? What's he doing this time?

Yeah, and that sort of thing, it has to happen. But at the same time, it takes the Wind out of the sails because, oh, he's going to get away. What a shock.

Exactly. He's always going to get away.

It would surprise me if they caught him.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, I just I don't know. I mean, if they did capture him, like, what do you do with him? I mean, how do they secure him?

How do they? I mean, I guess you use the little things that like they use against Obi-Wan where they wrap him up, you know, and like stretch him out like a flayed man almost.

Just force choke him. Just force choke him.

So he's he's mostly machined. He's like the prototype Darth Vader, right?

And that was kind of like what he's supposed to be.

He's a more machine. He's more machine than man.

I said that last I said that on a prior episode recently. Thank you very much.

Yeah, I was going to say, he's more machine than man.

But but yeah, I think it's.

I think that's what's supposed to be.

His but he's again by choice.

Right. He's doing this.

Oh, you totally. Purpose.

Yeah.

Idiot.

And also, too, I like the fact that he's he kind of like there's a line in the in this episode where he says something of the nature of I don't care about your religion.

I don't care about the Republic.

All I want are the Jedi dead.

Right. Like that.

Like like he like he's he's beyond kind of moving.

He's moving past the Trade Federation and doing the bidding.

He just wants to kill Jedi.

Yeah. Well, we saw that in that comic, right?

The that's right.

Age of the Republic.

Yeah. I forgot about that.

Yeah. Yeah.

He's like, I don't care.

I just want to kill the Jedi.

Yeah, that's right.

Yeah. Forget about that.

He just freaking hates Jedi.

Yeah. Well, maybe they wrong the man.

I don't know.

It is a good episode.

And if you like curious, I'm sure you'd like it probably more than the brain invaders.

I still say the brain invaders was by far the best this week, in my opinion.

Between the two, that's that's a little tough because, again, I loved the hyperspace exit.

I loved when they were flying at the end, when they were flying through the debris.

Yeah, that was fantastic.

I love shots like that.

I'm a sucker for shots like that.

It's space. It's space battles.

It's space battles.

Yeah. Yeah.

And I loved that we could see, you know, they've got this plan, this elaborate plan.

Oh, wait, he already knows the whole.

Yeah. He already suspected the whole.

Oh, no.

It's a plan.

He suspected the whole I don't know.

It's the whole you're waiting for that twist where they knew that he knew that, you know, that kind of thing.

So I enjoyed all of that.

And of course, even though, you know, the ending is coming, he gets away still really good.

I, I, I, I would say I like both episodes possibly equally because there's just very different.

Yeah, they are.

Yeah. And we just haven't hit the end of an arc.

And it looked a little different on the second.

The beginning of the next arc looked completely different.

Yeah. All right.

Cool.

78. I mean, it was good.

It's watchable.

You hated this episode.

No, it's not a hate.

It's more of a it's more of a it's more of a just didn't enjoy as much as episode eight.

Everybody can have a wrong opinion every now and then.

What are you watching right now?

So earlier on a prior pod, you mentioned James May and Iron Man in Italy.

Yeah. And in passing, you mentioned the first series season, whatever.

Iron Man in Japan.

Yep. And you highly recommended them.

And so I vowed to go check them out.

And I wanted to just skip straight to Italy because I thought that was going to be

the better show, the better season.

But I knuckled down and said, no, no, no, I got to start with Japan.

That was really good, wasn't it?

Wasn't it good? Japan one was fantastic.

Yeah. Yeah. Italy was good, too.

That was fine. I think you kind of touched on that a little bit.

But the Japan one from beginning to end, I was enthralled.

I just I just thought it was the best thing ever.

I think part of that, though, is that that's like one.

And I think that you've never been to Japan.

That's like one culture that like that that we just don't really know that much about.

We just don't really know that.

We know about it somewhat, but not.

No, no, no. I thought I did.

That's why I didn't really want to watch the show because like, yeah, it's going to be

all weird stuff and karaoke and all that.

He he he did the right thing when when he started the series that season

way up north, right, where you do not expect him to go or at least not to start there.

You start you start in Tokyo or something.

Right. So I loved that he just went north to south,

started in the remote northern almost wasteland.

And the culture up there was so awesome.

The I don't remember.

I don't remember the town, but it was where he was walking down the street.

And he had all these little like

restaurants that were like kind of like huts almost.

Yeah. Yeah. And you just slide open the door and and and go in and sit and shut the door.

But it's like two little two little tables, like two little seats.

Yeah. Oh, it's like a like a it's like a booth.

Yeah. The whole is like a booth.

And it's this very communal thing.

Yeah. It gives you a sense of how tight the Community is up there.

And also, if I remember right, it's been it's been I watched at the beginning of it.

But don't they drink in one, too?

Like everybody's drinking beers and like it's like this little bitty room.

And there's like a lot of people in there.

And yeah, that's the that's the place I'm talking about.

Yeah, that's the restaurant.

And yeah, he tries this translator thing, which doesn't work at all.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah.

That was a great start and I just loved every bit of it.

I think if I remember right my favorite episode ended up being the one where he does the sword thing with the Master Swordsmith.

Oh really? Yeah, I thought that was really cool. I thought that was really neat because you can tell he's very

like hands-on like type situations and there's another episode in the Italy one that I just find so intriguing because he you could honestly

see his passion for it. Oh, he loves the craft. Yeah, he just wants to know how does this person who is

insanely good at something like like how do how do they operate like on a daily basis or how do they how do they perform

their craft and with what tools do they perform it with and I love that. I think that's that's part of the reason

I love that series so much and I hope it I hope it goes on. I don't think they have a doubt.

I had after finishing Italy I had to look it up and see and I had read already that their plan was to do America and

everything went haywire. Oh, that's right. I remember that. I remember this. That's why he's like I'm going to Italy. That's right

I remember that. I do remember that now. And he he kind of talked about it like, you know

Yeah, it'd be nice to do a third one. Yeah, maybe

And I started having fun where if you could pick anywhere in the world and just throw James May, you know in that direction

Where would you pick?

Because it has to have some depth to it. Yeah, right. Yeah

Would either go probably Brazil or Australia

Brazil could be riding. I think of Brazil Brazil Brazil would be neat Brazil would be neat but just because

Yeah, I think Brazil would be cool and one of the reasons I say that is because he did visit the soccer club over in

Italy

Eventus stuff but yeah, I think Brazil would be Brazil would be cool Brazil would be neat

I think Australia would actually be cool, too

It's just that Australia you'd really have to do like outbackish type stuff and not like Sydney, you know

I mean like you I think yeah, that's too especially for a UK audience. Australia is way too obvious. You just yeah

No, they have a they have a lot of them. No, it's under death but Brazil is brilliant. That's a great idea

I was thinking maybe Turkey

Yeah, that'd be good. Yeah, that'd be good

Yeah, yeah, Turkey would be good that way I'm trying to think this is this is more like along the lines of like where would

I want to see Anthony Bourdain or you know

Where would I want to see Anthony Bourdain?

Cuz like he would take you to places that you're just like, oh we're going here tonight cool

And then you'd like get into it and you're just really like this place is amazing

You know me like like wow like like how does you know?

How do you plan this and like how do you you know, and this is just one episode, you know

Or two episodes maybe for his show and you're just like wow, this is so cool

And then that was where it became less of a food show and more of a travel show for me

And I loved that I loved that about that show and this is definitely

Travel show up front, but really he's he's

Kind of getting more into the culture versus it's a call. It's a culture show. It's not a try. It's a culture

It's not about you know, when you go to Tokyo stay in this district. Yeah, exactly

This is culture show

It's a little bit of a mix because I enjoy the and this is some weird, but I enjoy the usually he has a partner

that's really just

Different or off or funny or or you know, you mean the guides? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah the guy the other guide

So I enjoy seeing them and he focuses a lot on his relationship with them, which I really find hilarious

Because by the end of the episode he's like

Emotionally about this guy that he's and I don't know I mean you only seen it for an hour

So maybe he was here for like three or four days of this person and built up this repertoire

But I like how he buys the little gifts and like he did, you know, I love all that

Like I that's that's like a James May like thing to me. Have you ever watched this cooking show?

You know, I

The old cook. Yeah, I I that failed right that did not know to that. No to that in

Well, maybe maybe Amazon didn't want to redo it, but he could well, that's what I mean by failed

It was not it was one season done

But it was it was very much

He started that show if I if I remember right like he started working on a cookbook and then he started that show like

Right in the middle of kovat and he's just like what can I do with like what's something I can?

You know keep myself busy with during kovat and I think that that cooking show ended up being

what it was because they could have like four or five people in the room and they could wear masks and do all that

Kind of stuff and he had a helper on that show. That was really good, too

She was she's pretty awesome

And not in the end of the show at the end of the show like the finale episode

He like makes her like a dinner and stuff and I don't know it brings his character into it a lot

Whereas you really didn't get to see that too much on time here and in Grand Tour. So I like that part

I'll have to watch that next I I've seen that as you know scrolling through Amazon

Never paid too much mind to it

but when he mentioned it, I think all one of the Italy episodes that

It not that it failed but yeah, it just didn't take off. It didn't go anywhere

Yeah, I think I thought it was more of a vehicle to sell his cookbook

Honestly, and I thought it was something that sure convinced convince Amazon to do book wise and then like, you know

I mean like I just be like, hey, let's just kind of do this whole thing. I can do during kovat. I get recorded

It was neat. I

Was neat kovat was a neat show. I mean, I think it was a neat show

I think it was a neat show and I think it was a great show

COVID was a neat period for people figuring out what they wanted to do.

Like you had the 80s show, the Josh Gad thing.

You had the Happy Time News thing with a guy from the office, John Krasansky.

It was a neat period to me that you got to see people honestly be creative

and come up with something that they could do to keep themselves busy.

And you don't see that now because now everything's like,

alright, we'll do this in 2024, we'll do this in 2025 back again.

And hopefully, let's all hope that we never have to go through that again.

But I thought it was a neat way to see people's honest creativity

and what they could work with in their homes sometimes.

Just like a camera and YouTube. I don't know, I thought it was neat.

You're absolutely right about the creativity.

But I can tell you this, that was amazing, but I can tell you this.

You give me five years, certainly.

And a big part of my brain will deny that we ever went through that.

Because even now, when I think back to the isolation, the lockdowns and all that,

it's like a dream.

And I don't mean, I want to say nightmare.

Not a good dream.

Not a good dream. That's not what I meant.

It wasn't a nightmare. We didn't suffer. A lot of people did.

We did not. We were fortunate.

But to think back that we went through that, it's bizarre now.

And we're only two years past.

You know what I just thought of, John?

What's that?

When did I come to you to talk about this podcast?

We've been doing this a while.

But it was right in the middle. It was like six months into COVID.

Was it really?

Yes. And I said, let's do something.

This is a COVID cast?

Yeah, this is a COVID cast.

I remember it was like...

That never clicked.

It was four to five months into COVID.

And I was like, what's a project that we can take on,

something that we're doing, something that we're working towards,

and let's go crazy and just dream of a huge goal.

And if it doesn't go anywhere, it doesn't go anywhere.

But let's try this massive goal.

And I started thinking about what can we do.

And I was like, oh, yeah, Star Wars.

We always talk about how we like the movies and everything.

But yeah, I'll go back and find the dates of our very first podcast.

But I'm pretty sure this was a COVID baby.

I mean, COVID's over. Why are we still doing this?

No, what are you, crazy?

Why are we...

Dude, there are like 3,000 fans waiting for this podcast.

And you cannot deny them episode 30.

I would not.

I would never deny my fans anything.

I didn't know that they were in little trilogies.

I believe, if I remember right, it's a different director for the three.

And then also it may be a different writer.

I just remember them being like, they're in threes,

and you're going to see four different looks of him in three episode arcs.

So I have not watched the second one.

Her parents, and this is, it's pretty dark at the beginning.

Her parents get killed by these like beast things and she's kind of like on her own

and, and the Ewok finds her and like, you know, helps her out and like all this stuff.

It was, it, for, for me as a kid, it was pretty impressionable.

I really enjoyed it.

also may have been like a directed tape, try to deal or something, you know?

And, and a lot of people, including me, I was not overly impressed with Rogue One.

It was just stupidly fun stuff. And that's what She Hulk is. It is so good. It's so good at capturing that, in my opinion. It was like the spider pig. No, well, that was that was that was a whole different beast. That's a whole that that is a completely different. No, no, I'm just saying like, that's a completely different like, like that.

It's having fun with it. That's what it is. Okay, I agree with that. I totally agree with that. And then, um, what was the Nighthawk one? The Nighthawk? Sorry, not the Nighthawk, but the Hawkeye, the Christmas series. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think they just called Hawkeye if I remember right. Yes, that was it. That was another one that was just fun. It was just it was just a fun thing to watch. And like, yeah, maybe a person story a little bit. I'm not worried about person story because this is just fun stuff that I enjoy.

That's all I've really watched lately. That's well, to keep going with that. That's why the a lot of the criticism I saw of She Hulk was just overblown. I mean, come on, guys, just have fun with it. Why are you digging in on this? This meaningless crap? Just enjoy. And you so are you up to date with She Hulk? Did we cover that already?

I did not watch the last episode, which I believe came out last night or this morning. Oh, okay. No, no. So you watched last week. You watched. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I caught up. I caught up last week. Yeah, that was great. It was. It was really good. I enjoyed it. Yeah. I hated that his show was was dropped by Netflix. I love that he's been, you know, he's been brought back. But but if there was one character from I'm going to try to be vague here. One character from that group of characters that I would love to have seen back, it was him by far. Yeah, by far, by far.

I'm going to I'm going to give our listeners whiplash because there was something I want to say earlier. We didn't get to it. You're not caught up on the Rings of Power. I'm I'm upset for but there's one thing I want to say about that. Okay. Because it's been going through my head. I'm enjoying that show. Okay. Okay. Okay. I don't enjoy House of Dragon. House of Dragon is not a fun watch because House of Dragon is like who's about to get stabbed in the neck.

Yeah. Right. Rings of Power is is is is enjoy. It's it's a it's a it's fun. Even when bad things are happening. I'm trying to remember. It's still fun. It's got such a different vibe to it because that's the word we use now. Such a different vibe that it's it's an enjoyable watch versus the the the cringe watch of House of Dragons. That makes sense. Yeah. And I wouldn't say there's any anxiety when I watch House of Dragons but I'm always just kind of like oh here we go. Like you know what I mean? Like it's just like all right here's here's where it's about to start. You know like I get invested in these characters Eric. But then again I'm the one actually watching the shows. That is true. Where you just hit stop and you go about your life. I really felt like The Lord of the Rings was slower almost than than House of Dragons though. Like I like I was just like all right I understand that we've got to build these characters up but like I didn't. You always have to allow for that. Yeah. Yeah. But anyway they were complaining about how certain characters are suddenly back in the main storyline when they should not have been. You know they they yeah. I won't go more into that. But it definitely picks up. OK. Yeah. I've heard three people who I respect. One of them is you and their TV and they're you know they're watching and stuff. Yeah.

You you have just such a short leash.

I know. But like you have most most shows are seven episodes,

10 episodes, 12 episodes, something like that.

You have three episodes to hook me.

If you didn't hook me, then I don't know that I'm going to enjoy it.

You're starting. Well, that's fine.

And it's a valid point.

But it is you're starting a brand new.

You got to lay some groundwork.

Episode one gets you your story basics.

Episode two gets you your really who are the characters.

Episode three gets you.

It allows you to marinate on that.

All that stuff that you've already told.

But then when you get to four, you better blow me away.

Like, like, I want to be like, OK, I do like this show.

And you you don't get to four. You just quit at three.

Well, I'm just saying, yeah, three is three is your deciding point.

Or whether I do. OK, fair enough.

I would go watch episode four of every series that I've stopped.

and you start bouncing up and down and then you just stop and walk off.

It happens to all of us.

I know. But sometimes sometimes like this is so I have I found myself

and I'm trying to think of a series that I could say this lost.

Lost one of my favorite shows of all time.

But there were some terrible episodes in the middle of some of those seasons.

And I think sometimes I actually like used to hate watch stuff

like I'm like, I got to sit through this.

I'm already on the journey.

I have to. And I don't ever want to feel that.

And especially with as much content as there is now.

I'm like in the middle school, my time that I have to watch it,

I'm just kind of like, no, I'm not going to hate watching.

I don't want to hate watch like, you know, I don't want to sit through something

just to say I've seen it all. You know what I mean?

It's like books with you, too. I'm the same way with books.

I'll get 100 pages in a book and I am totally fine setting the book back down.

And I'll tell people, hey, you want the book for it?

You know, it's yours because it's just I only have so much time

to be able to do stuff that I just I don't want to.

I'm not going to finish a book just because I want to say that I finished the book.

And so there was years TV.

I certainly think that it is a video games, probably to like, I'll get I'll get,

you know, I think you would be sure

a lot of times you have to be 10 hours into it to really understand the game.

But then at that point, you're just kind of like, look, this is a treadmill.

I'm not doing this.

Yeah, you can see where it's going at that point.

And but let's see.

OK, with books and video games, can't really argue with that.

Those are big commitments there.

We're talking about, you know,

certain shows where, yes, yes, it's it's a bit of a time investment,

but only the I would not talk about this for just any show like, oh, you must

complete, but the shows that

reward you for hanging around for four or five and six

and then just take off. Yeah. Right.

Yeah. Those are the ones that I'm talking about.

Yeah. And I think the best example for me of stuff

that I was kind of hesitant about that I didn't was the first series of Westworld.

Like the first episode, two episodes, I was like, oh, this is awesome.

This is great.

And then got a third episode.

I was kind of like, this is going to drag.

You know, I want to watch this.

And then I will admit totally that by the time you got to those last two episodes,

I was like, this is amazing.

Absolutely, amazingly mind bending, you know what I mean?

So, yeah, I agree. There are some that I need to continue.

We've discussed Westworld many times in this podcast.

Yeah, we're not going to get into that because that's a season bridge.

But that's a good example of season 2, you dropped out as a lot of people did, and I kept going because season 1 was so good.

Did you hate watch season 2 though?

I don't know if I'd call it hate watching. It was more of a...

Dislike watching?

More of a, you know, think of the addict sort of tapping his arm like, come on, give me the rush, give me the rush, give me the rush.

I know you've got it in there. I know you can do it. I'm so proud of you. Come on, I know you can do this.

And it just never comes.

And so then it becomes a habit. It's like, well, now I have to watch this stupid thing.

Yeah. Yeah, I can't. Yeah, that's the perfect way to say it. It's like, I'll hang on a little bit, but man, you got to really get it.

I did see somebody write an article about your Raised by Wolves that you talked about, I think, two podcasts ago.

That they were like, and again, I haven't watched it yet, but they were like, I cannot believe that this series has ended on the biggest cliffhanger.

And I guess they canceled it or they're not making another season?

Last I heard, and we discussed it, I think they were trying to shop it around, trying to see if they could go forward with a third season.

And again, if you're going to watch it, I don't want to say too much.

We talked about it before. My brother raved about it. So I will watch that, even if I know the cliffhanger is there and I'm not, that's fine.
