VCX-series auxiliary starfighter

The VCX-series auxiliary starfighter, commonly referred to as the Phantom, is a versatile and crucial component of the larger VCX-100 light freighter, famously known as The Ghost. Manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation, this small starfighter acts as both a shuttle and an escort vessel, enhancing the tactical capabilities of the Ghost. Distinctly, the Phantom I could detach from the Ghost to conduct independent missions, perform reconnaissance, or provide critical fire support during engagements. Measuring at about 5.02 meters, it is well-armed with laser cannons, allowing it to hold its own in various combat scenarios.

The Phantom II, a modified Sheathipede-class transport shuttle, succeeded the original Phantom. While differing in origin and design, it fulfilled similar purposes as a docked auxiliary craft. The Phantom II, acquired through a heist by the crew of the Ghost, offered enhanced capacity and improved functionality over its predecessor. The integration of these auxiliary starfighters within the Rebel Alliance's operations provided strategic flexibility, allowing for rapid deployments, covert insertions, and supplementary firepower during pivotal confrontations against the Galactic Empire.
