Taun We

Characters

Taun We is a character from the Star Wars universe, making her debut in the movie "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones." She belongs to the Kaminoan species, a tall, slender, and graceful race known for their impressive cloning technology. Taun We is the administrative aide to Prime Minister Lama Su and serves as the prime contact between the Kaminoans and the Jedi, particularly during the creation of the Clone Army for the Galactic Republic.

Visually, Taun We possesses the same distinctive physical appearance commonly found within the Kaminoan species. They are characterized by their long necks, elongated limbs, pale skin, and large, glassy eyes that give them a serene and elegant appearance. Her voice, provided by actress Rena Owen, is soothing and melodic, reflecting her calm and amiable personality.

Taun We plays a significant part in providing information about the creation of the Clone Army. When Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi visits the planet Kamino in pursuit of a bounty hunter, he is greeted by Taun We, who immediately recognizes him as a Jedi, and reveals the existence of an army of clone troopers that have been secretly commissioned for the Galactic Republic on the authority of Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas.

Throughout Obi-Wan's investigation, Taun We not only gives him a tour of the cloning facilities but also introduces him to Jango Fett, The Mandalorian bounty hunter who serves as the genetic template for the Clone Army. Taun We's unquestioning loyalty and her role as the facilitator for the creation of the Grand Army lead to the eventual initiation of The Clone Wars, a devastating conflict that would ultimately reshape the fate of the Star Wars galaxy.

Despite her role in the creation of the Clone Army, Taun We's intentions and loyalty are never in question. As a servant of the Kaminoan government, she is dedicated to ensuring the success of the project commissioned by the Galactic Republic.

Yet, her naivety is evident when she casually and without suspicion informs Obi-Wan about the existence of the Clone Army, particularly when the Jedi are unaware of such commission. Her innocence highlights the Kaminoans' lack of awareness about the shadowy events that led to the development of the Clone Army and the Clone Wars. Taunt We, like many other Kaminoans, was used as a pawn in a larger galactic scheme orchestrated by the eventual Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) and the Sith.

Although Taun We is not a major character in the Star Wars franchise, her role in the revelation of the Clone Army has significant ramifications on the overall narrative of the saga. The Clone Wars would not only lead to the fall of the Jedi Order but also culminate in the rise of the Galactic Empire and Emperor Palpatine's reign of terror.

Despite her limited screen time and minimal mention in the wider Star Wars canon, Taun We's character is a critical and memorable participant in the most pivotal events in the galaxy's history. Her serene and compassionate demeanor, combined with her unwavering loyalty to her people and the Republic, make her an enduring and influential figure in the world of Star Wars.
