Silman

The Silman was a character of great importance, but often overlooked, within the Star Wars universe. Holding the key part within the storyline of Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, the Silman was a human male who served as an aide to the Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, and survived what most believed to be a fatal shuttle crash.

Silman was born a few decades before the Clone Wars and showed great promise of integrity and generosity. Despite his failure to manifest Force-sensitivity, Silman found service in the galactic Community by becoming an aide to Sifo-Dyas, a Jedi Master. They formed a bond and travelled to different parts of the galaxy to spread peace and resolve conflicts.

However, dramatic events unfolded when Silman and Sifo-Dyas were dispatched on a diplomatic mission to deal with a tribal dispute on the planet Felucia. Unfortunately, their shuttle was sabotaged by the Sith as they sought to kill Sifo-Dyas. Silman managed to survive but was severely injured, found by the Pyke Syndicate and kept as a captive. Throughout the years, Silman remained in their prison, while the galaxy at large presumed him dead.

His fate would change years later when the Jedi Council began to unravel the enigma of the creation of the mysterious Clone Army. The Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker found the barely sane Silman in captivity. Unfortunately for Silman, the Sith wanted to keep their secrets and ordered to eliminate him. He was killed by Count Dooku - a masterful stroke that kept the secret of the Clone Army's true purpose hidden from the Jedi.

Despite his tragic life, Silman holds a critical space in the Star Wars universe. Virtually unknown by all, the truth of his surviving the shuttle crash and subsequent captivity remained a secret until the end of his life. Silman's existence forms part of the intricate tapestry that reveals the underhanded strategies employed by Sith to usurp power and trigger the fall of the Jedi.
