Raxus

Planets

Raxus, notably recognized as Raxus Secundus, is an impactful planet in the Star Wars universe. Falling under the Star Wars expanded universe or "Legends" category, it holds a rich history and compelling narrative that adds depth to the expansive galaxy. Raxus Secundus, often simply referred to as Raxus, is known as the homeworld of the noble House Serenno and one of the prominent worlds in the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Confederacy was a secessionist government led by Count Dooku, a notorious character in the Star Wars saga.

Located in the Outer Rim Territories in the Tion Hegemony, Raxus is widely recognized for its expansive cityscapes, with massive buildings, towering spires, and well-maintained gardens. Despite being such a developed world, Raxus also boasted a wide array of wilderness areas, teeming with indigenous creatures and wild landscapes. Its urban landscape beautifully contrasted with its wild territories, presenting an intriguing dichotomy.

Raxus served as a key player during The Clone Wars, a civil war involving the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. A significant battle, known as the Battle of Raxus, occurred on the planet where the Droid Army of the Confederacy engaged with the clone troopers of the Galactic Republic. The battle ended when Darth Vader invaded and overthrew the Separatist Council of the Confederacy, showing his allegiance with the Republic.

Additionally, another planet called Raxus Prime also exists within the Star Wars universe, often resulting in confusion. Raxus Prime, unlike the sophisticated Raxus Secundus, was portrayed as a highly polluted industrial planet. Its surface was covered in scrap metal and waste from a never-ending cycle of industry, starkly contrasting the relative beauty and refinement of Raxus Secundus.

Raxus, in its various forms, has played an integral role in shaping the narrative of the expanded Star Wars universe. It's a living testament to the franchise's ability to create intricate intergalactic worlds, from its lush cityscapes and wilderness to the suspenseful battles that were fought on its soil. Whether serving as a battleground in the epic Clone Wars or as the home of notable Star Wars icons like Count Dooku, Raxus remains a memorable and crucial element of the galaxy's layered tapestry.
