NR-N99 Persuader-class droid

The NR-N99 Persuader-class droid, more commonly referred to as the Persuader-class droid enforcer or the Corporate Alliance tank droid, is a model of tank droids predominantly used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during The Clone Wars. These droids were designed and manufactured by the Techno Union and deployed primarily by the Corporate Alliance, an organizations within the Confederacy. The primary function of these droids was to perform policing functions on planets under the Alliance's influence and during the war, they were utilized as assault vehicles.

Essentially a droid brain attached to a tractor tread, the Persuader-class droid cuts a recognizable silhouette. This tread, which was large, monowheel and served as the droid's legs, made the Persuader-class droid a fast-moving and manoeuvrable asset on the field. Matching speed with durability, the Persuader is well-armoured and capable of traversing numerous terrains, from city streets to challenging rural landscapes.

The droid was equipped with two primary weapon systems: twin heavy laser cannons and a retractable laser turret. The twin heavy cannons were the droid's main weapons, capable of inflicting serious damage on enemy infantry and vehicles. The retractable turret, on the other hand, provided a quick-response defence against infantry that got too close. Operating without a crew, the Persuader-class droid enforcer mitigated the risks related to living crew casualties if the vehicle was destroyed.

Despite its many advantages, the Persuader-class droid enforcer had some key weaknesses. First, its size made it an easy target for enemy forces. Second, it was vulnerable to hijacking by experienced and nimble infantry. Last, the droid's cannons and turret had a limited range of motion, which, combined with the fact that the droid itself could not rotate quickly, created a significant blind spot in its defence.

The NR-N99 Persuader droid played a significant role in several major battles during the Clone Wars. It made its most notable appearances in the Battle of Kashyyyk and the Battle of Christophsis. Despite their initial advantage, the droids' weaknesses eventually led to their downfall in these battles. Even though the Confederacy of Independent Systems was eventually defeated, the impact and the formidable image of the NR-N99 Persuader-class droid remains a significant artifact of the Star Wars galaxy.
