Christophsis is a planet in the fictional Star Wars universe, first introduced in the animated film "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." Notable for its crystalline surface and unique green, blue and purple color scheme, the planet is located within the Outer Rim Territories, part of the Chalybea sector. The crystalline world of Christophsis has a vibrant appearance that primarily stems from the vast crystalline forests that cover its surface.
In the Star Wars timeline, Christophsis played a crucial role during the Clone Wars, as it was the setting for a major battle between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance. The Siege of Christophsis took place in 22 BBY (Before The Battle of Yavin), when Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, leading a battalion of Clone Troopers, were sent to defend the planet against Separatist forces led by Admiral Trench. This battle was significant for a number of reasons, including the introduction of Ahsoka Tano, Anakin's new Padawan, who later became a fan-favorite character in the Star Wars universe.
As a resource-rich world, Christophsis played an essential role in the production of advanced, high-quality materials vital for various industries in the galaxy. Its state-of-the-art factories produced goods using the unique crystals and minerals found on the planet, which primarily supported its economy. The planet was densely populated, with many diverse sentient species coexisting together. However, despite its growth and prosperity, Christophsis also experienced its share of social and economic inequality, which caused unrest amongst its inhabitants.
Despite the prevalence of various sentient species living on Christophsis, the planet's native species were primarily animals, notable for their unique crystal-like appearance. Among these species were the crystal-Rex, a large, quadrupedal predator covered in crystalline growths, and the crystal snake, a serpentine creature with a crystalline exterior. These creatures were well-adapted to the unique environment and were able to effectively camouflage themselves within the planet's crystalline forests.
A key location on Christophsis was the capital city, known as Crystal City. The city was situated on top of massive, towering crystalline formations, supported by intricate networks of bridges and skylanes. Another notable location was the Chaleydonia Airdock, an essential transportation hub for inhabitants and visitors alike. The airdock served as a connecting point for Interstellar travel, facilitating trade, transportation, and commerce on the planet.
Christophsis is considered canon in the Star Wars universe, with its first introduction in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" animated film and subsequent appearances in other media, such as "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" TV series, comic books, and novels. In the Star Wars expanded universe or "Legends," Christophsis also maintained a significant presence, including the appearance in the comic book series "Dark Times," video games like "Star Wars: The Old Republic," and novels like "The Clone Wars: Wild Space."
