Mustafarians

The Mustafarians are a sentient species native to the volcanic planet of Mustafar, which is a part of the Outer Rim Territories in the galaxy far, far away. The planet is seared by intense heat, plagued with volcanic eruptions, and covered in molten lava. Mustafarians are uniquely adapted to survive in such a harsh and unforgiving environment.

The Mustafarians are of two subspecies: the Northern and the Southern Mustafarians. The Northerners, also known as the Lava Miners, are of short stature, generally at most 1.5 meters tall, and possess sturdy limbs and tough skin. They inhabitate the cooled lava tunnels, where they mine valuable minerals.

On the other hand, the Southern Mustafarians, sometimes referred to as the Volcano Dwellers, are tall in stature, typically well over 2 meters, with long limbs and narrow bodies to help them keep cooler. They live in advanced technologically-constructed settlements suspended above the lava flows, which they design and maintain with their advanced architectural skills.

The two subspecies of Mustafarians share a deep connection with Mustafar’s volcanic ecosystem. They have developed unique means to coexist with lava and use it in various ways. They've mastered the process of "lava farming," which involves channeling lava to watermill-like plants for the extraction of power and resources. They also process the volcanic minerals into a valuable and precious material called "obsidian" widely used for crafting bespoke lightsaber hilts.

Mustafarians have generally maintained their neutrality throughout galactic conflicts, keeping focus on resource extraction and trading. They have, however, become entangled in various skirmishes, such as The Clone Wars, when their mining assets briefly fell under the control of the Techno Union. Additionally, Mustafar is infamously known as the location of the epic duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, also known as Darth Vader.

Their culture is centered around their connection to Mustafar, and they hold deep respect for the natural forces that shaped their world. They also possess a social caste system that involves the division of labor, with the Northerners focusing on mining while the Southerners handle governance and architectural works. However, due to their unique physiology and geographical separation, they maintain a peaceful coexistence and rarely interact with each other.
