Lothal sector

Locations

The Lothal sector, often just referred to as "Lothal," is a sector located in the Outer Rim Territories of the Star Wars galaxy. It is part of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and is featured prominently in Disney+ XD's animated series, "Star Wars Rebels". This region is known for being a hotbed of early Rebellion activity against the Galactic Empire. The sector is named after Lothal, its most well-documented and developed planet, which is characterized by grassy plains, vast scrubs, and an abundance of Puffer Pigs.

Lothal was a significant industrial planet exploited under the reign of the Galactic Empire for its various minerals and resources. Notably, Lothalian factories were used for the production of Imperial starships and TIE fighters. The sector's history is marked by resistance and struggle, with rebellion cells like the "Spectres" staging their operations against the Empire from here. These struggles contributed to the establishment and rise of the Galactic Rebellion as a strong opposing power.

The rich culture of Lothal is often masked by its industrial image. The planet is also known for its ancient mysterious Jedi temple, which is a significant plot element in the Star Wars Rebels series. The Jedi temple on Lothal is particularly noted for its unique properties, such as its ability to act as a conduit for time and space, presenting a gateway known as the "World Between Worlds".
