Aurra Sing is a notorious bounty hunter and assassin in the Star Wars universe. With a rich history and an interesting array of skills, she is among the most respected and feared bounty hunters in the galaxy. Born on the planet Nar Shaddaa, Sing is of both Human and Near-Human Anx descent, which grants her a distinct and striking appearance, characterized by her chalky white skin, red eyes, and two long antenna protruding from her scalp.
As a young Force-sensitive girl, Aurra Sing briefly trained as a Jedi in the Jedi temple on Coruscant under the guidance of the Dark Woman (An'ya Kuro) and Jedi Master T'ra Saa. Her training was eventually cut short due to her impatience and aggressive tendencies. Turning her back on the Jedi Order, Sing turned to the dark side of The Force and dedicated her life to criminal activities, becoming a bounty hunter and assassin-for-hire, working for various criminal syndicates, Hutt cartels, and sometimes even the Sith.
Throughout her life as a bounty hunter, Aurra Sing used her exceptional marksmanship, melee combat abilities, and limited Force powers to make her one of the most deadly and successful killers in the galaxy. She primarily wielded a custom-built sniper rifle and a red-bladed lightsaber, both serving as lethal tools in her arsenal. In addition to her physical capabilities, she also had a personal starship called the "Slave I," which she used for transportation and as a base of operations during her hunting jobs.
Aurra Sing first appeared in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace during the podrace scene on Tatooine. Though her screen time was brief, she made an impact on viewers and quickly became a popular character. This led to her being further developed in various forms of expanded universe content, including comic books, novels, and animated TV series such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Aurra Sing took on a more prominent role, working alongside infamous mercenaries like Cad Bane, Bossk, and young Boba Fett. She played an integral part in the kidnapping and attempted execution of Jedi Master Mace Windu, the murder of Jedi Master Halsey, and the assassination of Senator Padmé Amidala's bodyguards. During this period, Sing even took on the role of mentor to young Boba Fett, teaching him the skills he would need as a future bounty hunter.
Ultimately, Aurra Sing's life was filled with betrayal and change. Following numerous run-ins with the law and the Jedi, she was eventually killed by Tobias Beckett, a character from the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story. Beckett claimed responsibility for her death, stating that he had pushed her off a cliff and taken credit for her demise.
Aurra Sing represents one of the darker characters in the Star Wars universe, a twisted mirror image of what happens when a Jedi goes astray and succumbs to the temptations of the dark side. Her ruthlessness, cunning, and exceptional combat prowess make her a memorable and formidable figure in the galaxy far, far away.
