Arcona

The Arcona are a race of sentient beings that live in the Star Wars universe, widely recognized by their triangular-shaped heads, multifaceted eyes, and coppery skin. Originating from the desert planet Cona, situated in the Teke Ro system in the Outer Rim of the galaxy, the Arcona subsist mainly on the nutrition from the solar energy of their home-world. They possess strong family bonds and commonly dwell in tight-knit communities.

Uniquely, Arcona physiology results in a dependence on salt — whilst most other species find it harmful or fatal, for them sustenance is impossible without it. The Arcona achieve this through consumption of a variety of mineral cubes. Interestingly, they are also very susceptible to the intoxicating effects of sodium chloride (standard 'table salt')— which they often confuse with their vital saline cubes. A familiar Arcona face in Star Wars lore is that of Hem Dazon, who appears in the cantina scene of "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope".
