It's here after four episodes full of suspense building up to this the final

battle Darth Maul fights a little girl. Today we discuss Darth Maul 5 and New

Republic Darth Maul on this edition of the 11 parsecs podcast.

Hello and welcome back to the 11 parsecs podcast number 5 coming at you

today with some more comic books. We discussed last week Darth Maul series 1

through 4 today we're coming to the penultimate conclusion with episode or

sorry issue 5 and also the Darth Maul Age of Republic comic. I'm here with my

co-host John. Hello. And my name is Eric if you don't know that much about the

podcast and just happen to stumble upon it please go back and listen to our

podcast 1 it describes kind of the whole project that we're doing we're going

through all of the new canon Star Wars comics books TV movies everything in

chronological order in the Star Wars universe and today we're at the end of

Darth Maul the comic series and also the Darth Maul one-off so John how's it

going? I'm doing well how are you? I'm doing pretty good. Can I open my beer now?

Yeah wait wait wait wait so we the last couple podcasts we've both been I'm

sorry we both have it. No you've been saluting with the with the pop.

I've been saluting with the pop. So let's do a 3 2 1 countdown pop and then you

can talk about your beer I'll talk about mine. Okay. Ready? Yes. 3 2 1.

Nice. Oh that was a nice that was a synchronicity. That was awesome. Alright so I am not

surprising anyone I am still on my setzer kick and I am drinking Scoffwall

tropical POG which is just their POG basement POGs flavoring I guess inside

of a setzer and it's pretty good I like it I've been digging it I'm still on the

setzer kick I'm I don't know maybe it's just quarantine maybe it's just summer

but I've enjoyed the setzer. What are you drinking? It's funny you say that

because I almost was going to have a basement POG tonight but I decided

instead. The actual beer though. The actual beer yes I said instead I saw

this in the store and I just I couldn't resist man they're gonna think Scoffwall

like pays us money but they don't but this is also my Scoffwall. Oh you're drinking Scoffwall too?

Look it's a really good brewery okay and it's local so it's local here in Atlanta.

But this one I couldn't resist when I saw it is called F*** Corona so I had to get

that one because yeah. Wait wait wait the tagline is F*** Corona? The name of the well it's basement IPA F*** Corona.

Okay wait what is the yeah this is what is this virus in parentheses beneath the

oh so it's got virus okay okay I'm sorry they're not saying F*** my competitor

they're saying yes okay yeah so okay so what is the it's a basement though so

it's a style on the basement IPA what is the I honestly tell me what the taste

well I'm probably just a sucker for marketing and in which case I tip my hat

to Scoffwall because I think it is basement I think it's just basement IPA

it's just got the nice little slogan on the front that really caught my eye so

yeah it's good but I think it's just basement. Okay so you think it's just a

rebrand? Yes. Well not a temporary rebrand. A special edition limited edition and

exclusive. America. America Bud Light. Bud Light always has those like weird can

things will do like that's right boards and NFL and that kind of stuff it's still Bud Light.

Yes. Okay so we left off on pins and needles kind of from last week at the

very end of the fourth issue Maul is fighting with Eldra Kadis who is a Jedi

Padawan Maul feels that she's more than a Padawan she's holding up like she's

more than a Padawan too so I mean so we really left on kind of pins and needles

and I went and read the comic that night and did you read it that night or did

you wait a little bit? I waited a little bit I wanted to read it but I had other

things going on but I think that it's appropriate that we left it at the

cliffhanger at the end of four in the spirit of you know the old serials that

that well Indiana Jones and in some parts Star Wars were kind of based on so

we had the cliffhanger and we came back. Indiana Jones has left us on

number four too. Yes. I agree. Actually it left us on number three. Number five is

coming. Number five is coming. It's gonna be so good. Number five is gonna be

amazing. But sorry I did not mean to interrupt you but yes our podcast ended

on like like the serial. On the cliffhanger yes the total cliffhanger. So literally him and Eldra

I mean like like like hardcore battling and what was your prediction last week?

Do you remember?

Well, what was my prediction? I know what I wanted. I wanted her not to die because they've done a good job of portraying her as a character.

You know, you don't want someone to be killed off. She she had skills.

She was confident. She was not some scared little quivering thing.

So she had she knew she had to work with Maul at one point.

Like she she understood that they needed to fight together to be able to at least get to the point where they could fight each other.

Yeah. And so but at the same time, we know that she can't survive or at least she can't she can't kill him for obvious reasons.

But she also can't really survive or escape because then she'd go tell everybody and we can't have that happen either.

So you can't give away the 2000 year old Sith conspiracy.

It's a couple of panels in that I thought it was happening.

I thought he's going to turn her to the dark side, which I kind of wanted to happen because otherwise she has to die.

So so when we left there, they're battling it out and they just cross swords for the first time.

I really enjoyed the first, I don't know, 10 pages of this comic a lot.

Like the fight scenes were really well drawn. I think that they were really well.

The physics, I guess, involved with the bodies flailing and flying back and like the bursting of stuff and the jumping and stuff.

It didn't look anime-ish. It looked like a really good fight sequence.

Like you would imagine two humans fighting, you know, in a movie or something.

I thought it was really well drawn.

Yeah. And he really loves doing the helicopter, doesn't he? With his little double.

He does. But, you know, I'm a guy. I get it. I mean, you know, if I had two of them, I'd be like, oh, if I could do that, I would do it nonstop.

I mean, people would get sick of me helicoptering my lightsaber. But, you know, it's noticeable.

I'm not complaining. It's just like, you know, that's your move.

There's some panels that it almost looks shield-ish, like you're waiting for him to use it as a shield, but then he never does.

Right. That's right. Yeah. It's that much of a disc-looking fling around.

But what is this? Page... this is where it turned. Page 96.

The last panel on page 96, where she has that grin on her face.

She has thrown her lightsaber. First of all, I think we should step back for a second.

They are fighting. They're dueling very well. She's totally holding her own.

He's saying, if I make one mistake, she will kill me. Right.

So, yeah, he so and he is and he has also said during this fight, he's like, she is not a Padawan.

She's basically, yeah, she's she's like, this is a Jedi. I'm fighting a Jedi for the first time.

Like, I really feel like this is what I was, you know, I've been waiting for.

And I feel like I'm not skimping myself in any manner and fighting a Padawan.

She's a really, really good Jedi. And then she does a really foolish thing.

She throws her lightsaber. Why would you throw your lightsaber? It's your weapon.

Keep it in your hand. She throws her lightsaber into the rock wall over his head.

And he says, you know, you should have you should have tried to hit me.

And she has that look in the last panel 96 that told me exactly what was about to happen.

That look of overconfidence. You just screwed up. It's a joker-esque look.

Like, it is a joker-esque, but it's total overconfidence.

You're being smug. You're giving a little smirk. And that's when I knew she's going to die.

So another thing about her, too, and maybe it's her. I think she's Twi'lek.

The race. She looks older. Like, she looks like a Jedi.

Like, if you imagine whatever a Master and Apprentice like Obi-Wan was an Apprentice.

He was like, they talk about he's like 17. You know, he's like, she looks older.

Like, she looks like she's like mid-20s in my opinion. Did you get that?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I agree with that.

Yeah, like the Padawan-esque was not really there.

Like, it was more like he was fighting someone about his age in my opinion.

Yes, she's not a child. No, she's not coming across as a child.

You know something bad's about to happen to her just because of that panel.

Like, it can't be that easy to kill Maul. Which, you know, of course you know that it's not easy to kill Maul.

I don't know why, but that look of, it was just like, you are, I know you're good.

He has said you're good, but, okay, that is, that's Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi

talking to the Emperor saying your overconfidence is your weakness.

And it is. It's her weakness. She thought she'd won, and what does she do?

Turn the page. She turns her back.

But also too, the panel where she turns her back and she says, uh, like, that's a weird panel to me.

Like, it's like a, did she really think she was done?

She picks up her lightsaber and she's looking off in the distance wistfully like, hmm, yeah.

Yeah, she thought she'd won. She thought she crushed him.

Again, overconfidence. What are you doing?

Well, she paid the ultimate price for it.

She did.

I mean, you know, she was a cool Jedi, but she's gone.

And which, we both kind of said last week, there's no way she lives because she can't get out now.

But, okay, I thought they did a good job of making me think, even briefly, that he's going to turn her.

Turn her to the dark side. I thought maybe, you know, into an agent that he could use, possibly against the Emperor.

Even briefly I was I appreciated that they they dangle that enough for me to grab on a little bit.

And I did like his final word where he tells her that she is a Jedi.

Like he's like yeah you are a Jedi.

Like you may be called a Padawan but there's a strength in you.

I mean even as he's stabbing her through her body with his lightsaber he still at least acknowledges a little bit.

In my opinion it's actually you know the funny thing is as much as he hates the Jedi that's actually giving her an honor.

A compliment.

Yeah I totally agree with that.

Yeah. Like it's so that's the thing about his character that he hates them.

But I still think he he holds a special place in his heart.

No but I but but I still think he respects them.

He just knows that he needs to wipe the floor with them.

You know I mean.

Sure.

So I think that he still understands it.

And this is more of a proving to himself that he is at least they're equal if not more like it's like a like a like a self.

I don't know what the word I'm looking for is but like a self belief type thing where he knows he's going to win but he needs to win just to be

able to tell himself that he's going to be able to fight all these other guys.

Oh well I mean we see in the comic coming up that the standoff or standalone that yeah he dines out on this for like for weeks.

You know I killed me a Jedi.

I killed me a Jedi.

Oh yeah.

He's all in like this is like yeah.

Yeah no I agree.

And so here's here's my thing that I really like that I did not expect.

The C3 droid that shows up.

Yeah.

Got to play a part somewhere right.

OK.

He's blind.

But what would be the point of adding him into the comic if he didn't record something or at least make note of something that somebody is going to come

along and find the C3 droid some point somewhere down the line and say hey how did this guy die.

Wait a Sith.

What is this.

And then there is ship off the Jedi temple.

OK.

If that happens and then I'm really impressed.

To me that was just like a he just slaughters everything in his path.

It was yet another.

He can't have any witnesses like you're saying he can't have any witnesses.

Just just slice him in half and done.

I'll see I think that's a I think that's a that's a that's a an anchor somewhere.

Yeah.

That would be great.

I'll come back.

That would be really bad.

I think it will because it just don't point you wasted a whole page of drawing just to have the C3 droid walk up and be like I can't see anything.

What just happened.

And then get sliced apart.

I don't know.

We'll see.

Yeah.

OK.

So overall what do you think about the comic.

What would you think about the finale.

It was a very satisfying conclusion to the Darth Maul series.

I did enjoy it quite a bit.

I actually thought it was a good comic.

I actually thought it was pretty good.

I actually was a little sad to see what's her face.

The the big bad lady.

Zex Rivas.

That's yeah.

The weird name Karen.

Yes.

Karen drinking wine.

The Star Wars Karen.

Yes.

She was Karen.

She.

Yeah.

She got cut down.

That was that he made a special trip to go back up there to kill her.

Is that what kind of surprised you.

Yeah.

Because he knew he knew that she knew what he was and.

Oh yeah.

And because the first one that's right.

That's right.

No I forgot about that.

For like.

Yeah.

Because he's saying.

Well it's it's actually kind of weird because he's there clearly to kill her.

And then he says right there before she says you know I know what you are.

He says you know say it.

Say it.

Give me a reason to get.

You're there to kill her anyway.

It doesn't matter if she says you're going to kill her.

So that was also to that.

If he really thinks that she knows what he is.

Hadn't she blasted that out to like eight billion people by this point.

You got to do what you got to drink and wine.

I mean she's got to be like telling people I think I got to sell them my hands.

You know what I mean.

Like well OK.

She but she would want to sell that information.

She's not going to.

Yeah true.

That's true.

Yeah.

Good call.

You know I got to put it on space.

But she's going.

She wants to sell that.

Yeah true.

OK.

Fair enough.

Fair enough.

I get it.

So all right.

So.

So the last the last.

Kind of not hurdle but the last supposed to be surprised.

Were you surprised when Papatini what he was doing all the time.

No.

Not.

No.

Was I.

No.

That's a.

That's a.

That's a.

That's a given.

Right.

He's the he's the Emperor or he's not the Emperor but he's the he's the master the

Sith master.

So he knows everything.

So I'm going to compare and contrast both the two comics in a second after we discuss

the second one.

It wrapped up everything as I thought it would wrap up everything.

Yeah.

You know I think I think I think I liked the first four books of intrigue maybe better

than the fifth book.

You know I mean like it was just kind of like OK this is what's going to happen.

We know it's going to happen.

Couple of small surprises in there but not anything that was just like knock me off my

feet like whoa.

That was a good twist.

You know I mean I'm trying to think back to the other ones I'm sure we cover them at

the time but not not really any major twists.

It was a satisfying conclusion to to the little story.

Yeah.

Agreed.

It was a good conclusion.

It was a good fifth wrap up wrap up comic.

I agree with that.

I do.

OK.

John let's talk let's talk about the one off the Age of Republic Darth Maul comic.

So both of these were illustrated by Luke Ross both comics that we read the fifth the

Darth Maul in the series finale.

And then also this comic was drawn by Luke Ross,

which was neat because I felt like it was a very good

kind of continuum.

Like we knew the style of the artist and was really good.

The fifth book or all the whole Darth Maul series

was written by Cullen Bunn, I think.

And then Jodie Houser wrote the one-off series.

I'm sorry, the Age of the Republic one-off

that we're about to discuss now.

I felt like this was OK.

So I've made my opinion known for one-offs

for the past two podcasts. I'm not a fan of one-offs.

I don't feel like you could tell a good story

within the one-off.

I actually really did enjoy this one-off.

I really liked it. Like it was a very good like,

I don't want to call it a synopsis of maybe

the Darth Maul series and some other stuff,

but it was a good like kind of it flashed back to the points

that maybe they wanted to have stick in the reader's mind

for future Darth Maul stuff. Does that make sense to you?

Yeah, I guess.

You didn't like it, did you? No.

What did you not like about it?

I think part of the problem with this one

was coming off of the five issue,

I had a high expectation of character development,

of story arc, and that's probably not fair

because like you said, it's a one-off.

And I bet if we had approached this one maybe first or later,

maybe I would have appreciated it more as being sort of a vignette,

a little cul-de-sac, if you will.

Yeah, no, and I, but, so whenever we did the Qui-Gon Jinn one-off,

we probably should have read these back to back

because they would have been really good to compare each other to,

I think.

Having just read the five whole issues

of that really good Darth Maul arc,

I think that it was hard for this one

to live up to anything in that arc.

That being said, though, we revisit a couple of different places

that we talked about in the Maul arc.

Malachor, they go back to Malachor,

they see all the burned bodies of the Sith.

He has a little flashback thing that is really good parallel

to the Qui-Gon Jinn flashback with the tree people that we talked about.

I will, we'll talk about that, but I don't get it.

All right, so let's cut it.

Okay, okay, let's give a little synopsis.

So as with all one-offs,

we're going to start off with some really quick action, really quick.

Zac Piero, the master thief in Lower Coruscant,

is going with some masked guy to go steal some pre-spice

or something like that, some kind of stuff to make spice or something.

Yeah, he's like discount Han Solo.

Yeah, yes, he's a very good discount Han Solo,

although he seems to be a little more well-known

because the person in the mask

that is to accompany him on this shipment steal

is, of course, our Darth Maul.

And Maul really kind of is watching the guy,

not necessarily for his thieving skills,

but more to see if he uses The Force,

which I thought was really kind of weird.

You know what I mean? Yeah.

Like his whole focus, it seems, is finding people

that could have been Jedi, since he can't kill the Jedi yet.

He's kind of like trying to find the scum and villainy

that has The Force, that is utilizing The Force,

and maybe doesn't even know it, and killing them.

None of this story made sense to me. Not any bit of it.

Well, to me, it kind of does because he's like,

if I can't go kill Jedi, I want to go kill...

or I want to go try to fight and hunt down

the best people that I can,

and those are going to be the people that could have been Jedi

but don't realize they're using The Force as much

or went down a different path.

What's the point? I don't get it.

What's the point of that?

He's a hunter. He's got to hunt. I don't know.

Yeah, it's weird. The whole him setting up this whole...

All right, so quick 30-second synopsis of,

he sets up this entire brand-new cartel

that's moved into Lore Coruscant.

This is Maul, which preludes a little bit

to Han Solo, the movie,

which we can talk about in a little bit,

but he sets up this whole cartel

that's really quickly moving into Lore Coruscant,

and he...

He names it after the Padawan that he just slaughtered.

Yeah, he named it after the Padawan

that he just slaughtered. Yeah, that's kind of an FU.

There's a little bit of...

Actually, well, okay, maybe it's an FU.

I thought it was more of a...

Okay, he's giving even more honor to this, but again...

No, I look at it as somebody's going to realize,

like, wait, what? What happened to her?

Okay, no, you're right. Maybe that is an FU.

It's an FU. It's an FU. Yeah, it's more of an FU.

So he forms up this cartel, this fake cartel,

and then he tries to recruit people

to help him do missions for this fake cartel,

and then all he's trying to do is see if they can use The Force

with Zac Piero here being our one guy

that happens to go along with him,

and compliments him the whole way, like,

hey, you're doing a great job, and then, of course,

Maul kills him.

Yeah. Maul kills everybody. That's what Maul does.

Yeah, he does. Yeah, he's a hunter.

So he goes back to Palpatine, and Palpatine's like,

hey, did you have fun on your hunt?

Just guy talk, and he's like,

I hope you enjoyed killing all these half-Jedi people

or people that could have been Jedi down on lower core.

Somehow you're going to expose us pretty much,

and he's like, no, no, no. I'm not using my lightsaber.

I'm using regular weapons.

Anyways, the part that I really liked about the comic

is when they go back to Malachor, and you see him...

Do kind of a 180 where it's like it's very much like Luke going into the cave on Dagobah

and seeing Vader and such and you know seeing his own face. It's like he in the dream or in

the vision I guess you could call it he becomes a Jedi. Yes. And he saves these people not because

he necessarily wants to save them but because he wants to hunt this big beast that's trying to

kill them. And I don't know if it's supposed to show like a spark of good in him or if it was

just supposed to show that he's supposed to gross him out is supposed to. To me I read that as

Palpatine giving him the vision and making sure that he's still on the total evil path. Okay.

Okay. That's that's that's all I got out of that because otherwise it makes no sense at all.

So checkbox checked. I mean that was he ends up killing this this beast for these people and they

invite him to dinner and they ask him to stay over which is a really weird thing. You want to

sleep in the same bed. Yeah. He just cuts down all the kids at the dinner table. Yeah. Then he just

cuts down everybody's heads off the dinner table and then ends up killing the kid that he tried to

help. The only thing he would come in his vision is him instead of him in a Jedi costume. The only

cool part of this and you can tell me if I'm right is that a Rancor. Does he kill a Rancor.

It looked like a Rancor to me. Yeah. That's what that's what I thought it was but I don't know for

sure because it looks a little different than the ones you see in Return of the Jedi. It looks a lot

like a Rancor to me. Yeah. And the fact that they're of his kind to like that that's what's

kind of a weird twist on the story is just like he set himself apart from his own race so much

that he just looks at him like as normal people. He doesn't care about killing them at all. And

that was kind of weird to me in my opinion. The whole thing was weird. It's just the whole thing

was weird. I really just enjoyed it though. I enjoyed it. It's really weird. I usually don't

like one-offs and I thought this one was pretty good. It was very well drawn. There's a couple

of what page am I on here. There's a couple of panels. I don't know. Page 43. There's a couple

of panels there. The first one at the top of the page where they're all sitting at the dinner table

and he's got this look like what the hell. I mean it's I love that panel because of his

expression and then at the bottom of that page the panel with the lightsaber going through the guy's

neck where his head is just nothing but on a lightsaber blade. Yeah it's like a lobbing off.

Yeah I shouldn't laugh but yeah it's very it's a very weird transition. Oh it's got the old vroom.

I mean yeah there's just also when he decided to switch it was pretty quick switch. Yeah

yeah agreed. Yeah that was it was odd and then they go back to they go back to I guess it's

Coruscant. Yeah they go back to Coruscant and they're like talking back on their little porch

and what's really weird is like they're never worried about talking about stuff on this little

porch. I guess Palpatine's just so really good at cloaking their bad activities but like you would

think if Palpatine's not trying to be seen as a Sith Lord he's not walking around on his deck.

You know what I mean? Yeah. Like is him and Maul are just up there chit-chatting about oh you killed

this Jedi you blah blah and I'm just kind of like all right well I guess he's not really worried

about people. Yeah I mean Coruscant is like 200 stories tall right and this is one stupid little

battle. There's people in cars flying by and he could be flying by I mean you never know. I mean

it's just like Obi-Wan could be falling past the building I mean you don't know. He could be

falling past the building. Yeah like no falling like falling like down and be like hey look there's

Palpatine. Hello there. Wait a second I've seen him before. Yeah hello there. Hello there. Yeah

but anyway yeah it's a very it's it's it's interesting all the stuff that they're able to

cram into one one one-off you know so I have to give them props. I liked it a lot better than the

than the Obi-Wan one. I got so much more out of the Qui-Gon one. So much. Did you? So much more

about that character out of that that tight little story. I thought that was fantastic.

This is this is just Maul kills everything. Okay I knew that. It's Maul time, baby.

Rancor? Need a Rancor wiped out? That was the only cool thing was a Rancor. Rancor. Yeah yeah yeah

okay yeah you tempered you tempered my excitement about the issue a bit. I'm sorry. I liked it.

That being said we've only read what two one-offs so you know it was the better in my opinion of

the two one-offs but sounds like you are not in agreement with that. Absolutely not.

Okay and on that note. Well on that that have we had this before,

Dough? Have we just vehemently disagreed about something like this before?

Um I don't think so. Yeah wait wait just you wait until we get to some of the later. Oh sure yeah.

No no no no I'm when we get to some of the later works. Oh my goodness. Oh yeah no I know I know

it's gonna be fun that's that's the point that's why that's why I wanted to go on this journey

with you John because I know you're gonna be like no no no no no no no no no no no. It's it's

buckle up dear readers because it's uh are they reading this are they reading a transcript of

the podcast? No uh it's it's gonna get bad.

So the uh

Before we go, I did want to touch on the fact that they pushed back the Star Wars movies another, I think a year if I read it right.

Yeah, pushed back a year.

Makes sense. They pushed back Tenet, which I'm really excited about, but also Mulan and a bunch of other stuff that they had coming out.

Did I mention the name of my beer? Corona. Virus.

I'm bummed about Tenet. I was really excited about Tenet. Tenet looks great to me.

You know what, if because he obviously wants to release in the theaters and I'm all for that. Love me some Nolan.

So if it's mid 2021 and I'm in an AMC theater, which is the one down the road and I'm watching Tenet, that's great.

You know, good times are good.

Yeah, yeah. It's one of those things. It's not imperative that it be released now.

I'm still of the I'm still you know, this is going to sound.

I don't want this to come across as a bougie or anything, but I'm still of the of the of the club that I would probably pay 25, 30 bucks for a movie.

For my home, like, yeah, no, no.

Have you have you done that, though?

No, I have not. I haven't seen the ability to do that that much.

I know they talked about this on Amazon Prime.

Now, if you go to Amazon Prime, you can and I think it's changed now.

But when, you know, months ago, when when everything shut down, you could pay something like 20 bucks and watch something that was just in the theaters like yesterday.

Oh, interesting. OK, so they are moving forward with that model because I remember that at one point they were they were talking about like 60 bucks and 70 bucks.

I was like, that's a little too much. I think the next one and the one that I'm excited about is Bill and Ted three.

It's going to come out. Going to that's coming on. Yeah.

VOD. Well, I'm assuming it'll be available on Prime, but it's coming out VOD and I will pay, you know, whatever it is, 20.

I don't think it's 30, but I think it's more like 20 bucks for that because I want me some Bill and Ted.

Yeah, no, I'm totally fine with like 20 or 30 bucks is like it's like you buy the DVD.

Now, I'm assuming do these like expire like that?

They were that's to watch the movie. I think it's over 24 or 48 hours.

OK, so it's like a normal rental. You're buying. Yeah.

You're buying the experience. You are not buying the the film. You're not buying the movie.

Yeah. 20, 20 or 30 bucks. Yeah, I would pay that.

Like if somebody came out to me today and was like, hey, I give you 10 for 30 bucks. I do it.

Yeah, I'd pay that. You're not going to go to the theater anytime soon. So, yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. So totally. Yeah. I'm down with that. I get that.

And I'm sure other people are not for that. But again, you know, people want stuff free.

That's just how I want stuff free. But I mean, I am well for the choice movie.

I'm willing to pay top dollar. Yeah, I'm in agreement with that.

Instead of going to the theater, I was like, I like going to the theater.

But usually I would go see something like on a Tuesday, four weeks after it's released,

just so that I'm by myself and I can watch. No doubt. I was never.

This is this is this podcast is morphing into something else.

I was never a release weekend opening weekend. That's the word.

Opening weekend. I was never in that crowd. Never.

Because sometimes I don't need Star Wars. No, no, no.

It's even worse. Afternoon. Oh, it was a Sunday's afternoon.

Yeah. For me, just because I want to just because, yeah, I understand.

I understand where you're coming from. I do. And yeah, I think I think one of the best experiences I ever had

was actually going to see Force Awakens with my both my kids about four to five weeks after it come out.

I'd already seen it. But after it come out, they hadn't seen it yet.

And we were in an empty theater. It was great. It was best experience ever. Loved it.

Yeah. That tells you something, by the way. Empty theater. Yeah.

Yes. Yeah. That's what we need to do is we need to just be like, look, can you get in the theater?

Me and John will sit at opposite ends of the theater and we'll just watch the movie.

How much would it cost for us to watch it on a real movie theater experience?

Several thousand dollars.

So this is kind of a shorter episode because we've only been discussing two comics,

but we got some really good stuff coming up next week.

We're going to be watching the first movie, The Phantom Menace.

We got our buddy William is going to be joining us for all the movie podcasts.

I did probably expect a little bit longer podcast because I'm going to be taking diligent notes,

noting what Annie and all his friends are like playing with and everything while he's working on his pod racer.

They keep it a lollipop or whatever. Yeah. So I'm really excited to see our first movie.

I mean, it's going to be it's going to be good. I'm excited about it.

Again, this will be a three person episode coming up next.
