He is a skilled pilot from Alderaan and holds the rank of captain in the Alderaanian military. Antilles primarily serves under Bail Organa and Princess Leia Organa, working to support the Rebellion against the evil Galactic Empire.

Antilles makes his first chronological appearance in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, a pivotal film in the prequel trilogy. Antilles acts as a pilot for Bail Organa, Senator of Alderaan, and assists in the rescue mission of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda as they flee from the fallout of Order 66. Raymus Antilles’ most iconic appearance occurs in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the first film of the original trilogy. When their ship is captured by the Imperial Star Destroyer Devastator, Antilles bravely orders the crew to prepare for an Imperial boarding party.

During the harrowing opening sequence of A New Hope, Antilles is confronted by Darth Vader, who demands to know the location of the stolen Death Star Plans. Despite facing one of the most feared individuals in the galaxy, Antilles does not waver, even in the face of certain death. He denies any knowledge of the stolen plans and maintains that their ship is on a diplomatic mission. Ultimately, his bravery and loyalty to the Rebellion cost him his life, as Darth Vader kills him using The Force.

Despite being a minor character, Antilles receives a posthumous mention in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here, it is revealed that he had successfully distracted the Imperials on Scarif and allowed Jyn Erso and her team to transmit the Death Star Plans to the Tantive IV. This revelation further solidifies his importance in the grander Star Wars narrative.

In the expansive Star Wars Legends continuity (previously known as the Expanded Universe), Raymus Antilles is given a more detailed backstory. He is depicted as a close friend to Bail Organa, and his piloting and leadership skills are well-established. Several novels, including The Last of the Jedi series, feature Antilles as an instrumental character in the early days of the Rebellion.
