Kiffu

Planets

The Kiffu is the name of a planet in the Star Wars universe. It is a considerably sizable and populous planet located in the Inner Rim region, specifically in the Kiffu sector. The planet is known prominently for its defending force called the Kiffu Guardians, known as skilled trackers and crime investigators throughout the galaxy. Parts of the Star Wars narrative involving this planet revolve around noteworthy characters such as Quinlan Vos and Aayla Secura, both originating from Kiffu or its sister planet, Kiffex.

Physically, Kiffu is described as a terrestrial planet sharing similarities with Earth, full of rivers, deserts, and mountains. Its territorial landscapes are inhabited by a humanoid race known as Kiffars. The Kiffars are uniquely characterized by their distinct psychometric abilities and pattern of facial tattoos marking their respective clans. Kiffu's society is clan-based, significant clans include the Vos and Secura clans.

Kiffu's governmental system is a hereditary leadership known as the Sheyf. The Sheyf wields tremendous power and responsibility, encompassing both political and military aspects. The person holding this position not only rules Kiffu but also its sister planet, Kiffex. During The Clone Wars, Sheyf Tinté Vos was the ruler of Kiffu.

Kiffu, along with Kiffex, remained largely autonomous during the reign of the Galactic Republic, maintaining its own security and governing systems. It was only during the era of the Empire that Kiffu fell under imperial rule, drastically affecting its Legends and traditions. The Guardians were disbanded, and control over the sector was relegated to Moff Vanko.

During the era of the New Republic, Kiffu regained its independence and reestablished the Sheyf's authority as well as the Guardians. The planet's history and characteristics lend rich narrative content to the Star Wars universe regarding its culture, politics, and its ties with the galaxy-wide events within the Star Wars narrative.
