Corellians

Species

Corellians are a cultural group hailing from the planet of Corellia, one of the oldest and most vibrant planetary systems within the Star Wars galaxy. The Corellian system, located in the Core Worlds, is famous for its application of technology, reflected in its advanced starships and blasters.

Individuals belonging to the Corellian species are famous for their audacious and adventurous attitudes. These traits are believed to be an outcome of their planet's long-standing focus on starship engineering, space exploration, and services related to galactic trade. The direct result of these shared traits is a population known for producing highly skilled pilots, smugglers, and explorers.

Corellians are also well-known throughout the galaxy for their shipbuilding industry, forming the backbone of their economy. They're renowned for producing highly efficient and extremely fast starships, the most famous example being the Millennium Falcon, which is repeatedly described as one of the fastest ships in the galaxy.

From a physiological perspective, Corellians resemble humans, with a wide variation in skin color, eye color, and hair color. They communicate in Basic and were known to have developed a distinctive Corellian dialect.

Politically, Corellians have a reputation for being fiercely independent and somewhat rebellious, often prioritizing the welfare of their home system over broader galactic concerns, dubbing them as galactic "rogues." A testament to their penchant for independence is their 'Corellian Treaty' resulting in the formation of 'The Rebel Alliance' that opposed the Imperial rule.

Some of the most famous Corellians include Han Solo and Wedge Antilles. Solo was renowned as a smuggler before he became a hero of the Rebellion and the New Republic, while Wedge was a critical figure in the Rebel Alliance and was present for some of the most significant battles in the franchise's original trilogy.
