Wicked Weed

Beer

Wicked Weed Brewing, founded in 2012 in Asheville, North Carolina, is an innovative craft brewery that specializes in unique and flavorful beers. Emphasizing the use of fresh ingredients and innovative brewing techniques, this brewery quickly gained a reputation for producing a variety of high-quality beer styles, including hoppy West Coast IPAs, barrel-aged sour ales, and Belgian-inspired farmhouse ales. In 2017, Wicked Weed joined the Anheuser-Busch InBev family, which allowed the brewery to extend its reach to a broader market while maintaining its commitment to brewing exceptional, inventive beers.

The name "Wicked Weed" was inspired by a quote from King Henry VIII, who supposedly declared hops "a wicked and pernicious weed" due to their bitter taste and association with rebellious brewing practices. Today, Wicked Weed embraces these nonconformist roots by pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing and experimenting with diverse flavors and styles. The brewery operates multiple facilities in Asheville, including the original brewpub, the sour ale-focused Funkatorium, and a large production brewery with a taproom for visitors. With a focus on quality, creativity, and consistency, Wicked Weed continues to be a leading force in the ever-evolving world of craft beer.
