Whiphid

Species

The Whiphids, also known as the Toolans, are bulky, furry beings native to the icy planet of Toola located in the Outer Rim territories. Specially adapted to life on their frigid homeworld, they have coarse, long fur covering their bodies, long tusks jutting from their lower Jaws, and sharp claws for hunting prey. Standing at about two to three meters tall, the Whiphids are considered large by galactic standards and are renowned for their imposing stature and brute strength. Known to be resilient hunters, they thrive during the brutal winters of Toola, using their impeccable tracking skills and physical prowess to survive.

Throughout the Star Wars franchise, the Whiphids have made numerous appearances, both in movies and in the expanded universe. Whiphids are known to be rather isolationist, but some have left their icy homeland to find fortune among the stars. They are portrayed as mercenaries, thugs, hunters, and even Jedi, such as the famous Jedi Master K'Kruhk in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Despite their predominantly isolated lifestyle, the Whiphids have left a significant mark in the Star Wars universe given their distinctive traits and survival skills.
