Trade Federation ship

Ships

The Trade Federation ship, officially known as the Lucrehulk-class battleship, is an iconic vessel from George Lucas' Star Wars franchise. Featured prominently in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, the mammoth space vessel served as both a battleship and a cargo transport. Operated by the Trade Federation, a gigantic Interstellar shipping and trade conglomerate, these ships were instrumental in enabling the Trade Federation's economic monopolies across several star systems within the Star Wars universe.

The Lucrehulk-class Battleship was essentially a modified version of the Lucrehulk-class freighter. It possessed a spherical primary hull that was approximately 3 kilometers in diameter, with an annular docking and landing bay. The ship’s primary weapon installations included 42 quad turbolaser cannons, 164 laser cannons and 411 point-defense laser cannons. To boost its operational capabilities, the Trade Federation incorporated several modifications to the freighter designs such as a reinforced hull, increased weapon systems, and a command bridge protected by ray shielding.

Beyond its formidable armaments, the Lucrehulk-class Battleship was also a monstrous troop carrier. It could house up to 139,000 battle droids, a veritable droid army. Moreover, its massive cargo holds were capable of carrying 500,000 deactivated battle droids, making it a significant threat to any planetary defense force.

Additionally, the Lucrehulk-class vessel was among the few capital ships in the Star Wars universe that could enter atmospheric levels and land on a planet's surface. This feature made these ships crucial logistic elements in ground wars across different planetary systems.

the Trade Federation ship, or the Lucrehulk-class Battleship, was an essential imagery in the visualization of the Trade Federation's economic and military might in the Star Wars franchise. Its presence in the series illustrated the Federation's near-unchecked monopolistic power and its readiness to safeguard its interests with military force when required.
