Tasu Leech

Characters

Tasu Leech is a character that appears in the popular Star Wars universe. He was introduced in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. He is portrayed as a dangerous gangster who led a criminal organization known as the Kanjiklub Gang. A human male of native Kanjiklub, Tasu Leech grew up in the Hutt clans before gaining his freedom and forming his own group. His gang was particularly known for its hatred of the Galactic Empire and had a significant number of former slaves in its ranks.

The character is portrayed as ruthless, pragmatic, and particularly skilled in hand-to-hand combat. He was also multilingual, but refused to speak the Galactic Basic language. Instead, he spoke only the native language of the Kanjiklub. This was a clear act of defiance, as speaking only the native Kanjiklub language was his way of protesting against the cultural imperialism of the Empire.

In The Force Awakens, the character with his gang confronts Han Solo and Chewbacca over a debt dispute. The confrontation was instigated because Solo had borrowed funds from the Kanjiklub and failed to pay them back. This was not taken kindly by Tasu Leech and the Kanjiklub gang who sought to punish Solo for his transgressions.

The character Tasu Leech was largely created for the Star Wars sequel trilogy. However, over time, he has also made his appearance in several Star Wars literature and video games. Moreover, the character is played by Yayan Ruhian, a martial artist who has appeared in several action movies.

Although Tasu Leech had a limited appearance in the actual Star Wars films, fans appreciates the character for his unique design and his connection to the larger Star Wars universe. His character presents a unique representation of the Star Wars galaxy's underworld, enriching the franchise's fictional universe.
