Garel

Garel is a core world located in the Lothal sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. Introduced in the Star Wars universe in the animated television series Star Wars Rebels, Garel played home to criminal activities and was a key location in the rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Noted for its dense cities and vast trading ports, Garel is a bustling urban world, which greatly contrasted with the comparatively backwater world of Lothal - a nearby planet also located in the Outer Rim Territories.

The Garel Market was known to be a hub for Interstellar trade, with a variety of species from all around the galaxy. It was also a known operating area for the Spectres, a small group of rebels that carried out missions against the oppressive Galactic Empire. Towards the end of the Galactic Empire's reign, Garel was subjected to a blockade and eventually assaulted by imperial forces, as part of their efforts in quelling the growing rebellion. Despite its strategic significance, Garel has been fortunate throughout the chaos of the Galactic conflicts, avoiding the devastating and complete destruction that has befallen many other prominent planets in the Star Wars universe.
