This droid was designed by Respawn Entertainment to assist the game's main character, Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, during his journey. The droid sits on the main character's back and provides an array of useful functions, including the ability to patch him up with a supply of stims, or health packs.

In terms of physicality, BD-1 is a small, agile droid. It has a somewhat bird-like appearance, with a rotating head connected to a slender body via a skinny neck.
