Batuu

Planets

Batuu is a remote outpost planet on the edge of the Star Wars galaxy's Outer Rim Territories, in the Trilon sector. Historically, it was a thriving port for traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space, frequented by smugglers and rogue traders. However, its prominence diminished drastically with the invention of hyperspace technology, turning it into a quiet, backwater planet, home to those who prefer to stay out of the mainstream, and a haven for the galaxy's most colorful characters.

The planet is well-known for Black Spire Outpost, an infamous port for smugglers, traders, and explorers who are trying to avoid notice. It is named after the unique, towering petrified trees that once covered the planet's surface. The Outpost's twisting streets house a robust marketplace, where visitors can find everything from mysterious artifacts to a cantina. It is an area of intrigue and danger, where the Resistance and First Order hold a palpable presence. Batuu ultimately serves as the backdrop for the Star Wars-themed areas at Disneyland and Disney+'s Hollywood Studios.
