Admiral Ozzel

Admiral Kendal Ozzel was a character from the Star Wars franchise who served within the Imperial Navy throughout the Galactic Civil War. Created by George Lucas for the film "Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back", his main portrayal came from Canadian actor Michael Sheard. Admiral Ozzel was placed in command of Darth Vader's flagship, the Executor, and he led the Imperial Fleet in the hunt for the Rebel Alliance's hidden base, marking him as a relatively high-ranking official within the Empire's hierarchy.

Unluckily, Ozzel's strategic blunders proved to be his downfall. When he exited the Executor from light speed too close to the Hoth system, Ozzel unwittingly signalled the Empire’s presence and allowed the Rebels to initiate their evacuation procedure. His tactical misjudgement denied the Empire the element of surprise, sparking the disappointment and ire of Darth Vader. Vader, known for his low tolerance of incompetence, chose to execute Ozzel via a forced telekinetic strangulation. This effectively moved Captain Firmus Piett up the chain of command, who was promoted instantly to Admiral.
