Rael Averross is a character from the Star Wars universe, specifically appearing in the novel "Master & Apprentice" by Claudia Gray. He was a Jedi Master and served as the Padawan of Jedi Grand Master Dooku until Dooku left the Jedi Order. After Dooku's departure, Averross became a political liaison for the Jedi Order and was stationed on the planet Pijal.
During his time on Pijal, Averross formed a close relationship with the planet's Queen and began to deviate from the Jedi Code. He began to drink and take a more relaxed approach to his duties, which eventually led to him being expelled from the Jedi Order.
After leaving the Jedi Order, Averross became the governor of the planet Raada. He remained a close friend to Qui-Gon Jinn and helped him during his mission to investigate the disappearance of an important figure on the planet. Averross eventually sacrifices himself to help Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi escape danger.
Despite his shortcomings, Averross is still a respected figure in the Star Wars universe, remembered for his loyalty and his willingness to help others.
