The Minashee are an aquatic sentient species that originate from the seas of Nefta. They typically have long tails, cerulean blue skin, and gills on the sides of their necks. Resembling humanoids, they are recognized by their large, bulbous eyes that have adapted specifically for murky underwater environments. They also sport tendrils on their lower faces and scales covering their entire bodies.
Minashee are highly adapted for aquatic living. Their long tails provide powerful propulsion underwater, and their gills on their necks allow them to breathe efficiently underwater. Moreover, their eyes not only can see clearly in water but also have light sensitivity that helps them navigate murky waters. Functioning hands allow them to manipulate tools and construct underwater habitats.
The Minashee are known for their patience, a trait fostered by their environment that allows them to wait for the marine life they depend on for nourishment. They were considered skillful fishermen, and the rest of their culture and daily lives fundamentally revolved around water. They traded marine resources with other coastal and island societies on Nefta, becoming part of a larger unified Neftan culture.
Despite residing primarily underwater, and their unique adaptations towards such a lifestyle, the Minashee have also demonstrated the ability to live on dry land for extended periods. They are able to breathe air but are more comfortable and efficient in their native aquatic home, where they can fully utilize their specialized adaptations.
