Dwartii

The Four Sages of Dwartii were a group of philosophers and lawgivers from the early days of the Galactic Republic, which held tremendous influence on its first constitution. Their names were Sistros, Yanjon, Braata, and Faya, who were contemplated as controversial figures due their explorations into politics, philosophy, and power. They originated from the planet Dwartii, located in the Outer Rim Territories, hence their namesake.

These figures were so influential that statues known as ‘The Statues of the Ancients’ erected in their honor were found in the office of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine during his leadership. They were known to explore the dark side of The Force, which was likely the reason for Palpatine's fascination with them. The Statues of the Ancients displayed in Palpatine's quarters faced the Grand Convocation Chamber’s entrance, reinforcing their significance in shaping political thought and The Force’s understanding.

From the four sages of Dwartii, Braata was believed to be a direct influence on the Sith’s thinking. This connection was reflected in Darth Sidious' choice of decor, as the sage's statue was prominently displayed in his office. Braata’s philosophy of power and influence was of great interest to the Sith order and served as a foundational element for their philosophies. This, linked with Palpatine's ownership of these figures, hinted at his dark allegiance long before his transformation into Emperor was public knowledge.

Dwartii and its sages were first introduced in the 2002 film "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones." Although the Dwartii's depth and history weren't fully explored in the films, it was later expanded upon in the expanded Star Wars universe.
