Allagash White

Beer

Allagash White is a Belgian-style witbier (white beer) brewed by Allagash Brewing Company, located in Portland, Maine, USA. It was first crafted in 1995 by Allagash founder Rob Tod, who was inspired by the traditional Belgian brewing techniques, especially those of Celis Brewery. This award-winning beer is known for its slightly hazy, golden appearance, creamy mouthfeel, and complex flavor profile, which combines a refreshing crispness with notes of orange peel, coriander, and spices.

Due to its versatile taste and low alcohol content (5% ABV), Allagash White pairs well with a variety of foods, making it an ideal option for any occasion. The beer is brewed using a combination of 2-row brewers' malt, red wheat, and oats, along with Nugget and Crystal hops. The use of a special yeast strain ensures the fruity, spicy character it is well-known for. Allagash White has gained recognition as one of the best American-made witbiers, having been awarded multiple accolades, including four gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival and a gold medal at the World Beer Cup.
